Question concerning syntax highlighting among interwikis (Answered)

edit

{{helpme}}

I have noticed that syntax highlighting using <syntaxhighlight lang=""> works really well here on the english wikipedia. Like this (taken from SQL injection):

statement = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE name = '" + userName + "';"

However on the danish wikipedia (see the equvalent da:SQL injection), the tekst is small and the code has no frame. Any ideas why this difference exists?

English Wikipedia has customized its MediaWiki:Geshi.css, while the the same page on Danish Wikipedia is empty, so default styles for <source> apply there. Copying that code over would fix that, but only administrators can edit MediaWiki: pages and I think you would need consensus on dawiki for that change.
BTW, {{helpme}} isn't a good choice for technical questions like this one, technical Village pump would be a better place. Svick (talk) 00:17, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
First of all, thank you for your reply, which is very satisfactory. I will contact the administrators of the danish wikipedia to open a discussion on this topic. My apologies, for not selecting the right method for asking for help. I will do my best to remember this, in case I need assistance some other time. Thanks again. --mgarde (talk) 00:28, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. It's not that {{helpme}} is wrong for such questions, but that people who answer it might not know about technical stuff, so they would just send you to WP:Village pump (technical) anyway. Asking directly there would probably save you time. Svick (talk) 01:00, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Third normal form

edit

I see you added a citation to Third normal form and asked if that would satisfy the request for a quotation. What was really wanted was a quotation from the cited source for people without access to the source to verify that what it actually said had not been misinterpreted. --Boson (talk) 21:42, 16 June 2011 (UTC) In particular, what is requested is a quotation of what Zaniolo actually stated to be the third condition for 3NF in 1982.--Boson (talk) 22:10, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply. Does your source actually use

"A-X, the set difference between A and X is a prime attribute"

in the definition?--Boson (talk) 12:24, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
