Article title
editPlease Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). Articles about people should be named <First Name> <Last Name>, without descriptions. utcursch | talk 17:39, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
- Please don't create implausible redirects like "Sri Madhanavelu Pillai - Pioneer contributor to the Tamil Theatre Arts in Singapore". Article names or redirects should not contain description of the article subject. utcursch | talk 19:03, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Gayatrisu. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Mathanavelu Pillai, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Vanjagenije (talk) 00:13, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
February 2016
editWelcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Madanavelu Pillai. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Madanavelu Pillai, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Vanjagenije (talk) 10:25, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
Linking
editPlease, immediately stop creating inappropriate wikilinks. In Wikipedia, WP:WIKILINKS are used to link words to corresponding articles. You created numerous nonsensical links linking different words to the article about your grandfather. Edits like this and this are disruptive, and I have to revert all such edits. Please, do not make such wikilinks again. By the way, have you read my message above about the conflict of interest? Have you read that you should "avoid editing or creating" articles about your own family members? Vanjagenije (talk) 10:33, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
