Writing about yourself
editNot a good idea. See WP:COI
Sockpuppet investigation
editAn editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gaybryant, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
Blocked for sockpuppetry
editThis account has been blocked from editing for a period of 7 days for sock puppetry per evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gaybryant. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. Once the block has expired, you're welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe that this block was in error, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. Your Userpage entry.
editHi. I'm an administrator here and was considered deleting your userpage without giving you any notice (as would normally happen when we spot misuse of them, per WP:NOTWEBHOST and WP:PROMOTION.) However, I thought you'd prefer it if I were to drop by first and simply ask you to remove or rewrite the content so that it reads less like a detailed Wikipedia article or a LinkedIn profile, and comes over more as a simple statement, written by you in the first person, of your interests in editing Wikipedia and a short note of any experience relevant to that interest. We do not permit WP:USERPAGES to appear like Wikipedia articles or drafts and, as you already have one anyway, there is no need to use your Wikipedia userpage like a personal profile. You are, however, most welcome to link to the page about you, and to declare any connection you might have with any other articles you might consider editing in the future (see WP:COI for further guidance on that). Many thanks, Nick Moyes (talk) 20:11, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
