I SHOULD BE UNBLOCKED
I am user 115ash. For first time in my life I've been blocked. If you the history, on 10:13, 31 March 2015 "CosmicEmperor" undid my revision, but I did not revert that. I was warned in later. This morning I just added few images and updated some statistics (WITHOUT REVERTING ANYTHING). You even didn't give the chance to explain as well. Therefore I should be unblocked. My block log has been ruined! Thank You!--78.149.203.69 (talk) 15:51, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- He did not revert and edit the page after he received a warning message from the same administrator. You went on editing and making offensive slogans.--Johnsontoymaker (talk) 01:25, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

- Firstly, DO NOT continue to edit using this IP. This would be conisdered block evasion. Another admin has reviewed your unblock request and declined it.
- You were warned about edit waring, but continued by making edits to the same section as you had been waring over, even though it was the next day.
- Please note that WP:3RR is not a right, but a guideline. GedUK 11:25, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Justin Gaethje
Why exactly was this page deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BEDofRAZORS666 (talk • contribs) 23:44, 31 March 2015
Hi, I'm not the guy above who asked this question, and I can readily guess the most likely technical reason why Justin Gaethje's page would have been deleted, but since Gaethje's lack of a Wikipedia page was mentioned in a news article on a major MMA website not too long ago in a profile piece on the person, it might be in the community's best interests if you gave an official statement as to why his page was deleted, for non-regular editors who were attracted to the page. Beansy (talk) 06:39, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there. MMA fighters have a specific notability criteria which they have to meet before they can have a Wikipedia page. These are at WP:NMMA, and are
- Have fought at least three (3) professional fights for a top-tier MMA organization, such as the UFC (see WP:MMATIER); or
- Have fought for the highest title of a top-tier MMA organization.
- At the deletion discussion Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Justin Gaethje the community agreed that Justin Gaethje did not meet these criteria. The page was recreated, and I deleted it because, as far as I could see, there was no substantial difference between that version and the previously deleted one, so he still did not meet WP:NMMA. If you feel that he does meet these criteria, and I've made a mistake, please let me know and I'm happy to review it.
- If you'd like me to restore the page and move it to your userspace to wait until he does meet the criteria, then I can do that.
- If you don't think the criteria are fair, you can start at discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(sports).
- I hope this all helps. I know it's frustrating when a page gets deleted, but there's always a reason, and I certainly don't delete pages without considering the rules and the article. GedUK 11:05, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
The problem is that he is notable, he fights for one of the top MMA organization (7 fights under them) and has multiple title defenses. — Comment added by BEDofRAZORS666 (talk • contribs) 11:40, 01 April 2015
- OK, I've had another look at it. He has 7 fights for World Series of Fighting, which I presume is what you're referring to? Unfortunately, WSOF isn't considered one of the top tiers by the MMA Wikiproject, who set the guidelines. There's only 4 top tier organisations. You can see the list at WP:MMATIER. I can't overrule that group.
- There is a discussion happening at the moment about the tiers, so perhaps you should raise it there? Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mixed martial arts/MMA notability. You may find joing the project interesting too. Sorry I can't help you further. GedUK 11:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
Hello there GED, from Portugal,
regarding this page being protected: just so you know, now that the page is protected, the wrong version is the one that current stands. I sent a polite message to User:GTVM92 (an user from Iran, like the footballer) to see if he could add some data to the current situation of the player. His reaction: no reply to me, and changed everything else in article again without one word in summary! This situation will of course never be addressed by anyone but me - please consult the article's talk to see how many people have written there but me (none, zilch, zero).
Attentively, keep up the good work --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:09, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
List of programs broadcast by Qubo
Hello Ged UK,
I would like to thank you for semi-protect List of programs broadcast by Qubo page. IP 173.50.64.195 was responsible for the "unsourced or poorly sourced content" on the page. I am not familiar in reporting these types of issues or putting a semi-protection on the page. The other day, I was the one who corrected the Qubo programming page and then this IP person reverting back the way s/he had it. There were unsourced or poorly sourced content, Elliot Moose and Ghostbusters were not alphabetized correctly as well as the new show on Qubo Fishtronuts and Famous 5 and some of the current programmings were moved to Former Programming and adding shows that has not have been announced yet. In the past, this page had been vandalized by IP users. Cbears22 (talk) 04:46, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

VisualEditor News #2—2015
Since the last newsletter, the Editing Team has fixed many bugs and worked on VisualEditor's performance, the Citoid reference service, and support for languages with complex input requirements. Status reports are posted on Mediawiki.org. The worklist for April through June is available in Phabricator.
The weekly task triage meetings continue to be open to volunteers, each Wednesday at 11:00 (noon) PDT (18:00 UTC). You do not need to attend the meeting to nominate a bug for consideration as a Q4 blocker. Instead, go to Phabricator and "associate" the Editing team's Q4 blocker project with the bug. Learn how to join the meetings and how to nominate bugs at mw:Talk:VisualEditor/Portal.
Recent improvements
VisualEditor is now substantially faster. In many cases, opening the page in VisualEditor is now faster than opening it in the wikitext editor. The new system has improved the code speed by 37% and network speed by almost 40%.
The Editing team is slowly adding auto-fill features for citations. This is currently available only at the French, Italian, and English Wikipedias. The Citoid service takes a URL or DOI for a reliable source, and returns a pre-filled, pre-formatted bibliographic citation. After creating it, you will be able to change or add information to the citation, in the same way that you edit any other pre-existing citation in VisualEditor. Support for ISBNs, PMIDs, and other identifiers is planned. Later, editors will be able to improve precision and reduce the need for manual corrections by contributing to the Citoid service's definitions for each website.
Citoid requires good TemplateData for your citation templates. If you would like to request this feature for your wiki, please post a request in the Citoid project on Phabricator. Include links to the TemplateData for the most important citation templates on your wiki.
The special character inserter has been improved, based upon feedback from active users. After this, VisualEditor was made available to all users of Wikipedias on the Phase 5 list on 30 March. This affected 53 mid-size and smaller Wikipedias, including Afrikaans, Azerbaijani, Breton, Kyrgyz, Macedonian, Mongolian, Tatar, and Welsh.
Work continues to support languages with complex requirements, such as Korean and Japanese. These languages use input method editors ("IMEs”). Recent improvements to cursoring, backspace, and delete behavior will simplify typing in VisualEditor for these users.
The design for the image selection process is now using a "masonry fit" model. Images in the search results are displayed at the same height but at variable widths, similar to bricks of different sizes in a masonry wall, or the "packed" mode in image galleries. This style helps you find the right image by making it easier to see more details in images.
You can now drag and drop categories to re-arrange their order of appearance on the page.
The pop-up window that appears when you click on a reference, image, link, or other element, is called the "context menu". It now displays additional useful information, such as the destination of the link or the image's filename. The team has also added an explicit "Edit" button in the context menu, which helps new editors open the tool to change the item.
Invisible templates are marked by a puzzle piece icon so they can be interacted with. Users also will be able to see and edit HTML anchors now in section headings.
Users of the TemplateData GUI editor can now set a string as an optional text for the 'deprecated' property in addition to boolean value, which lets you tell users of the template what they should do instead (T90734).
Looking ahead
The special character inserter in VisualEditor will soon use the same special character list as the wikitext editor. Admins at each wiki will also have the option of creating a custom section for frequently used characters at the top of the list. Instructions for customizing the list will be posted at mediawiki.org.
The team is discussing a test of VisualEditor with new users, to see whether they have met their goals of making VisualEditor suitable for those editors. The timing is unknown, but might be relatively soon.

About Science and Rationalists' Association of India
Dear Ged UK, I was edited Science and Rationalists' Association of India's Wikipedia page. But every time my given information was deleted. I gave all information which is true. So why my edited data deleted? Please do needful. Someone is trying to vandalised Science and Rationalists' Association of India's Goodwill. I insert a picture where shows that Trademark Registration of India gave Science and Rationalists' Association of India registered certificate. Is their any fault to edit that page? Please do needful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Creative P (talk • contribs) 13:08, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there. There appear to be a number of copyright concerns, though I think the majority of these have been solved now. GedUK 11:47, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
An article you protected has also been the subject of a 3RR
FYI, see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Plot Spoiler reported by User:Gouncbeatduke (Result: No violation). I am unsure what is best to do, but I guess you only saw the RFPP, while there was also an open 3RR, and the people reporting were different. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 13:01, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

First he called me sockpuppet after you blocked him , he once again edited the same picture collage for which he was blocked. But this was in good faith as the previous editor was sockpuppet . But still I am not sure whether this can be counted as any violation. But after that he filed sockpuppet investigation againt me and even was aggressive in Vanjagenije 's talk page where Vanjagenije himself suspected it was personal attack. In the sockpuppet investigation case page that he filed against me , he pretended as if he doesn't understand Bengali( he wrote- could anyone tell me what does this mean?. Google translates it as "Behold blocked. Tor FIG tears.") and he had to use google translate to understand , but actually he edited Bengali wikipedia once --Cosmic Emperor (talk) 18:24, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

- @CosmicEmperor, is there any necessity to tell this?? Yes, when I joined wikipedia, I edited Bosnia and Herzegovina's article in various languages, including the Bengali one, but I just added some links. I don't know what is your intention. --115ash→(☏) 11:12, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Increasing an article protection
Hi Ged UK. You provided full protection to Captain America: Civil War, due to the number of creation attempts, which is against WP:NFF back in February. The protection is set to expire on April 20, and I was wondering if you could extend it to April 30? We have a reliable source (in Draft:Captain America: Civil War) that filming is scheduled to begin on April 27. It would be reassuring to know the mainspace article will still be protected until the draft can be moved over, as well as a small cushion should a reliable source confirming filming started does not come out exactly on April 27. Thanks! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:17, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- Done. If you need to move the article before that date, any admin can move it over for you (and the protection should come off automatically). GedUK 10:57, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Madonna (Entertainer) Page
(Nipun Nayar 16:40, 26 April 2015 (UTC))Hey, I was going through Madonna's article and couldn't find Personal Life section. If you allow me to, can I start the section? I am asking for this because whenever I search for a person on wikipedia, I look for Personal Life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nipunnayar (talk • contribs)
- @Nipunnayar: I think you need to read it a little more closely. The first section (and 9 subsections) are about her life. It's not for me to say whether you can or can't, but what do you think you can add that isn't already in there? GedUK 16:50, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Evolution Records
I noticed that you cancelled the speedy deletion notice of an editor who also requested the speedy deletion of an article I follow which is Evolution Records. Can you cancel that article's speedy deletion notice as well? I already challenged the speedy deletion in Evolution Records' talk page. Thank you. Steelbeard1 (talk) 01:31, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
