By the way, you should not make edits solely to avoid redirects. – Allen4names 07:58, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

It wasn't to avoid the redirect, it was to cause the link to go to the appropriate section of the page. I think it's a lot nicer to go to the section relevant to the link, rather than be dumped at the top of the page and have to scroll or search to find the relevant section.
