--Gegelia 13:09, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Gamarjoba Grigol and welcome to Wikipedia. Nice to meet one more compatriot here. Can you please modify the Tbilisi Youth City Assembly text. It shouldn't read as self-promotion article - it is against the wiki policy. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me at User talk:Kober.--Kober 09:54, 15 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

We do appreciate your contributions to wikipedia, but please note that external links are generally organized in the way you just did on Tbilisi article. Please consult Help:Contents.

Dear Kober,

It is very nice for me to be taking part in Wiki project. I had intended to reply on your first comment as well, but unfortunately I did not know how I could do it.

Could you please tell me exactly what I have to change on Tbilisi Youth City Assembly page in order to make it more suitable for Wikipedia?

I will be glad if you write me soon.

Best wishes,

Gegi

I am sorry!

I made two grammatical mistakes, as I was typing so fast.

G.

No problem! Thanks for your reply. Wiki policy doesn't generally encourage to have articles about the persons or institutions which don't play a substantial role at the national or international level. As far as I'm interested to represent Georgia here as much as possible, I'm in favor to keep the article but I'm afraid we will have to change its format. I think moving its content as a subpage of your userpage is the best solution. I can do it for you if I may. Tell me what you think about it.

You can also add userboxes to your page explaining where you come from and which is your native language, what are your hobbies and/or symphaties, etc. (see my page User:Kober; I can help with it too - just let me know which userboxes you may wish to be put on your page). We have also a special Georgia portal here at Portal:Georgia. I think we can successfully cooperate in order to let the world know more about our beautiful country. I'm currently working on Abkhazia-related topics and monitor all Georgia-related articles. You can easily check them by browsing Category:Georgia (country). If you have further questions, just drop me a line. Cheers, --Kober 05:07, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Btw, you can sign your posts on talk pages (not on article pages) by typing four tildas ~~~~, which automatically substitutes in your username, a link to your userpage, and the time and date. Alternatively, you can click the button "Your signature with timestamp" in the edit toolbar which appears when you edit the page.

Can I also ask if you happen to have the official emblem of Tbilisi? We have it on the Tbilisi page but it is of poor quality. You can upload the image through this link if you get it. Thanks, --Kober 05:07, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Kober,

I am extremly happy that our aim to tell the world more about Georgia is one and the same. I am also thankful that you are telling me what to do and how to do, because as far as I am a beginner I really need help.

I will be glad if you make any necessary changes to my site, please feel free. I will try to get the better copy of Tbilisi emblem when I will go to the City Assembly.

Best wishes,

Gegi

The reson for deletion.

(cc'd from User talk:Interiot)

Dear Interiot,

I am Grigol Gegelia, the chairman of Tbilisi Youth City Assembly.

I would be grateful if you could give me one or two reasons of why you deleted the Tbilisi Youth City Assembly article.

Yours sincerely,

Gegi Gegelia

It hasn't been deleted, it's still at User:Gegelia/Tbilisi Youth City Assembly. After you created it in July, Kober moved the article to your user space [1] after noting that it needed some cleanup. [2]
Later, I noticed the redirect that was left behind from Tbilisi Youth City Assembly. Redirects such as these are discouraged except temporarily after moving a page to user space. The reason for this is that either the redirect is an potential legitimate article title – in which case it should not point to a user page because they are generally considered to be "owned" by that user, not freely editable by everyone as articles should be – or it is an inappropriate article title, in which case it shouldn't exist at all. Redirects to user pages may be speedy deleted at any time under the criteria for speedy deletion.
If the user page is intended to be an article, it can be moved back out of user space. However, note that once it's moved to article space, it's subject to more stringent article standards, and could be deleted. It's probably a good idea to do some cleanup on it beforehand, if it's going to be moved out of user space. Kober did a good job above of explaining what may need to be cleaned up, and why it could be deleted if it were moved out of user space. --Interiot 19:23, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please leave Chirac as (1995-present) & Sarkozy as (President-elect), until Sarkozy has acctually taken office. PS- De Gaulle succeeded Coty as President in 1959 (see their respective articles). GoodDay 18:32, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jorge de Bagration

edit

Regarding your edits to this article - please source all your statements or they will be reverted. Also please restore information that you've deleted, such as the year of birth, and make sure the article makes sense, or someone will think it's vandalism. Cheers :) Bretonbanquet 23:00, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please add sources to your edits to this article, using the format shown at Wikipedia:Citation templates. The claim that Prince Jorge is the rightful heir to the crown of Georgia is extremely disputed and has been much debated on Wikipedia. Despite your reply to Bretonbanquet that no proof is needed, it is clear from your edits that you know others disagree with you about the Georgian pretender. If you do not explain -- and cite a written source -- for your claim that Prince Jorge -- rather than Prince Nugzar Gruzinsky -- is the rightful claimant, your edits may be "tagged" as unverified, or deleted. It is great to have Georgian writers contributing to Wikipedia in English, so I hope that we will be able to see new information from Georgian sources that you can cite. Thanks. Little context in Windsor Fellowship

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Windsor Fellowship, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Windsor Fellowship is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Windsor Fellowship, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:LadoGurgenidzePM.jpg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Oysterguitarist 21:52, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:LadoGurgenidzePM.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:LadoGurgenidzePM.jpg.jpg. The copy called Image:LadoGurgenidzePM.jpg.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Image source problem with Image:Michael Gove MP.jpg

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Michael Gove MP.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Genisock2 (talk) 00:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

edit

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!
