Reference Errors on 31 March
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:41, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 9
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Streetly Academy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page West Midlands (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sppedy Deletion of Brittany O'Neil
You marked Brittany O'Neil Article as Speedy Deletion. I dont know what made you to do so. The person is a Living American Actress whose article are already exists in other wiki languages. I dont know why are you intresting to delete it. I have added valid references and added wiki data links also. we can add more details to the article to elaborate the content rather than deleting it. I hope you can re consider your decision of deleting the article.--పోటుగాడు (talk) 07:45, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- References for biographies of living people need to be WP:RELIABLE. IMDb, Freeones and the subject's website aren't reliable sources. It was the consensus of editors at articles for deletion to remove the article as not notable. The new article in its current condition does not even make a credible, objective claim to notability and can also be speedily deleted per WP:CSD#A7. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's notablity guideline for pornographic actors. Brittany O'Neil does not pass it. • Gene93k (talk) 12:41, 27 April 2014 (UTC)
- I Can do nothing if you have already made your mind to delete the article. However, One thing i can say is, your act highly disappointed me and discouraged me to write any further articles in wikipedia. I am sure that you will delete the same article again and again if it is created , even with the reliable resources. mentioning one or the other reasons. --పోటుగాడు (talk) 14:56, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- The admin deleted the article, not for the grounds I tagged it but as unambiguous advertising (which it was). You are welcome to contribute to Wikipedia but please note Wikipedia's policies about neutral point of view and no original research. An article should be based on facts that are verifiable from citations to reliable sources. Also note that porn references usually don't count as reliable. • Gene93k (talk) 15:49, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
An article that is not quite AFD but not sure what to say
List of universities in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, just has one college it seems in this area so is not quite a list-so maybe it should be merged or redirected? I'm kind of hesitant to put an AFD on it to be honest. Wgolf (talk) 20:09, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Redirecting to the list's only member looks good to me. It has been done in other situations like this and its presence under {{Africa topic}} makes it a plausible enough search term. If it's controversial, you can take it to WP:Proposed mergers. • Gene93k (talk) 20:17, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
What I was thinking was is there a list for smaller areas like that to combine it into? I do have to admit its not that bad. But yes it is a odd case. Wgolf (talk) 20:20, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

Kevin Harrington AfD
I noticed there was some weird behavior going on in the AfD for Kevin Harrington: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kevin_Harrington_(entrepreneur)
If you look at the edit history, appears that an IP user voted twice, then signed as a different user to avoid detection. Could be other stuff going on there too but that was the most suspicious. Breadblade (talk) 02:28, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

How do you add categories to AFD's
Hi Gene93k, I noticed you added a category to one of the AFDs I was looking at. How did you do that? What is the template for that. I am usually pretty good at figuring these things out through trial and error, but this one is confusing me a bit. I am most interested in tagging things with Visual Arts, Arts, or Sexuality and Gender. Thanks!--Theredproject (talk) 15:42, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Is there a way to stop rude nominations?
PBP's current rash of one by one nominations at best in my view are getting ruder and ruder. His campaign seems to have as its goal to remove every article on a LAtter-day Saint from Wikipedia, at least every one that does not reflect negatively on Latter-day Saints. He also seems to be intent on avoiding any real discussion, nominating for Prod Deletion articles with 4 sources and similar actions. His speed at nominating articles for deletion is getting out of hand in my view. He is using more and more attack phrasing in his nominations, and being more and more antagonistic in his attempts to remove articles. I am really fed up with it. Especially since he tried to redirect out of existence an article I created without any discussion or notification. That was the last straw that I found extremely highly offensive.John Pack Lambert (talk) 00:39, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

For your endless listings of different AFDs into the different listings of deletion discussions.
You should try participating in at least some of those discussions though, with your experience with AfDs, you could give excellent comments to discussions. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:30, 10 June 2014 (UTC) |
Question
Hi ... thanks for all your good work. As you've just edited a page where I left a question on the talk page, since I left the question there, and are doing a lot of recent cleanup work on the page, I thought I would bring your attention to the question here. Thanks. --Epeefleche (talk) 04:28, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jonathan Shecter may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s and 2 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Malls; organization
Hi Gene. A quick question ... how do we determine that a mall is an organization or corporation, leading to this? It's not that I disagree; just that I've been told at wp that we don't consider a mall to be that (I happen to think you are right). --Epeefleche (talk) 18:44, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- I've been categorizing malls under "O" as commercial enterprises. If there's a consensus in favor of something else, like "P" for Places and Transportation, I'll go along with it. • Gene93k (talk) 19:16, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think you are correct. But the thread I had in mind -- where I was told that 2 editors believed that malls are not companies/organizations (incorrectly I believe, as you can see is emphasized by my last point in the thread) -- is here. Epeefleche (talk) 20:31, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
UsedEverywhere
Hi there!
I think there is some confusion finding references for UsedEverywhere.com because the sites are broken down locally ... for example in Victoria B.C. , where it's the dominate classified site, it's only ever referred to as UsedVictoria.com.
I found this video of a news segment on the company... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY4QHGz_iqY&feature=youtu.be&t=54s
Are videos considered okay as references for Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Almagordo (talk • contribs) 18:59, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- A YouTube video can be cited if (and a very big if) the publisher can be verified as a reliable source and the clip is not copyright infringement. The video does not clearly state its origin. Is Island 30 a program on CHEK-DT? If that's true, it helps, but it's not enough by itself. Please note that linking to YouTube is generally discouraged. • Gene93k (talk) 21:02, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi Gene, I've been putting a bit more work into this UsedEverywhere.com wikipage ... I'd like to get your opinion on the updates!
