Thanks for your ongoing work in performing deletion sorting for AfD discussions, an oft-unnoticed contribution area that helps to keep things running smoothly. North America1000 14:41, 2 April 2015 (UTC) |
Jose Luis Gonzalez, Artist
Dear Gene93k: I appreciate your help in formatting or whatever it is that you are doing...maybe creating links? I am so very new at this, but am very concerned about the notice that this file may be deleted. This gentleman is indeed someone people need to hear from and learn from so I would love to get your feedback to help me not lose this article. I interviewed and reviewed a lot of the materials that Mr. Gonzalez has kept records and copies of that I think is verifiable. Thank you. 2602:306:8054:E2A0:AD6E:A0CD:AAC:F1B0 (talk) 03:39, 9 April 2015 (UTC)ehonza5
He's not Icelandic. He's from Faroe Islands. LibStar (talk) 16:12, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- I sorted under Iceland because the article says, "...and now lives in Iceland studying in the Icelandic Academy of Fine Art." • Gene93k (talk) 16:36, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
TWL HighBeam check-in
Hello Wikipedia Library Users,
You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:
- Make sure that you can still log in to your HighBeam account; if you are having trouble feel free to contact me for more information. When your access expires you can reapply at WP:HighBeam.
- Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed. For more information about citing this source, see Wikipedia:HighBeam/Citations
- Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.
Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.
Thank you. Sent by MediaWiki message delivery (talk) at 16:45, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Category:Refugees ennobled in the United Kingdom: Revision history
Hi Gene, I'm fairly green when it comes to Wiki editing, thanks for correcting my mistake. My apologies, I had read the article on how to delete a page but had not realised that it didn't apply to categories. Is there another process for nominating them for deletion? If so, I would appreciate it very much if you could point me in the right direction on how to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.46.100.164 (talk) 14:29, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

request for debate to be added to a list
First off, thank you for adding the afd Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MADE 2015 World Tour to two list. I just want to know if it would be possible to get it added to the list of Korean articles up for deletion, since the group is a K-pop band? I think that would be the most likely way to get pther editors to debate it and would be accurate to include it on that list. Thank you! Peachywink (talk) 02:56, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
Hello Gene93k
I am trying to figure out why this would be marked for deletion. In all things new such as the speed for technology today we will see changes in traditional concepts and new ones evolving.
The internet-of-things will impact and change business models and one of the most important going forward will be protecting digital data assets. Traditional recordkeeping and library, archive methodologies for 'preservation' do not cater and will not be suitable for digital data asset management. Whilst the concept and term of digital perpetuation is only just evolving one could same the same for a lot of new terms. Why is it that you have such a problem with this word and its objective for differentiation and clarification.
Even if you delete this the term will not go away. It is already out there in publication on professional website libraries and will be available in the Queensland archives shortly. Therefore whilst it is not prominent now like all new evolutions so is there the introduction to new terms of reference it takes time and one would had thought that the wikipedia was a progressive environment and keen to be seen to staying in touch technology and the changing global environment.
Thank you for your time. Linda Shave — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.173.192.215 (talk) 07:37, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks
I wanted to thank you for cleaning up the list of Vivid Girls by removing links to articles which were previously deleted. While researching another adult performer, I noticed that her article was recommended for deletion several years ago after discussion but it was never deleted. Who follows through? Thanks again. 2601:1:3782:6A68:5410:C0E9:692E:B73A (talk) 09:19, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
There was recently a deletion debate which you took part. The debate continues on the talk page of the article (see talk:Melee). Please join the debate so that a consensus can be reached on the initial issues of whether it is appropriate to include the maintenance {{coatrack}} at the top of the article Melee. --PBS-AWB (talk) 17:09, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Adminship?
Hello Gene93k: Have you ever considered running for adminship? I've noticed your long-term AfD contributions, NAC closures, etc., and you would be an exceptional candidate. North America1000 13:52, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- Of course, there's no deadline. Perhaps you're still contemplating the notion. Or perhaps not. Regardless, thanks for your work to keep AfD and other matters in order. North America1000 11:34, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Sorry
Hi Gene93k. I was scrolling through my watchlist and somehow clicked 'rollback' on an edit of yours. Sorry about that!--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 23:43, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
How exactly
Was File:HRH George and Charlotte.jpg replaceable? Eric Cable | Talk 22:20, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- From WP:NONFREE: "Non-free content should not be used when a freely licensed file that serves the same purpose can reasonably be expected to be uploaded, as is the case for almost all portraits of living people." For living people, it is presumed that a free image will emerge eventually, as it did for Prince George of Cambridge. That will have to do for now. In short, fair use is not for images of living people. • Gene93k (talk) 22:30, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Gene 93,
Every time people need to visit the website of Portomaso Marina they end up visiting the website of the Portomaso Business Tower. Then the officials of the Portomaso Business Tower end up directing customers to the official Portomaso Marina Website - http://www.portomasomarina.com//
I added the link so that International Yacht Owners who want to moor their boat at the Marina can directly visit the Portomaso Marina Website from the Portomaso Tower Wikipedia Page.
I feel that this would be adding value to the page as well as giving a better service to the visitors. I am also aware that Wikipedia Links are nofollow and therefore I am obviously not doing this for any SEO value whatsoever!
I sincerely cannot understand why you feel the link is not appropriate.
