edit

Hello, I'm Synorem. I noticed that you recently removed content from Powerball (Australia) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Your edit summery does not explain the removal of all the content. Synorem (talk) 04:57, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Powerball (Australia), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. – robertsky (talk) 07:33, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Tlcsocialcontent. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – robertsky (talk) 07:34, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock-spamun | auslott | I am a representative for the Australian Securities Exchange listed organisation, The Lottery Corporation, and understand this must be disclosed as part of the paid-contribution disclosure and falls under conflict of interest (COI) editing. A number of articles relating to Australia’s lottery games were made by other contributors and are inaccurate or outdated. We hold government licenses to operate lottery games in Australia and adhere to strict responsible gambling practices and wish to ensure members of the public are informed of the correct chances of winning, and the current corporate entities operating these games. An example of this is the NSW Lotteries article which incorrectly lists Tatts Group Limited as the operator. As of 2022, NSW Lotteries is an entity of The Lottery Corporation. I am undertaking edits to correct factual inaccuracies specifically about lottery game odds and organisational entities. The edits are not intended for promotional or marketing purposes. Hi, I saw this edit because an edit filter flagged it as potentially promotional (guess it was wrong), I just wanted to point out that your unblock request did not work because it ended up missing the closing }}. I won't fix it for you as I'm not sure if it's appropriate. – 143.208.236.146 (talk) 05:07, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Decline reason:

Please request a new user name as described below. You will not be unblocked to edit about the lottery/your company directly. You would need to disccus content and sourcing, and make edit requests on the article talk page. Thanks-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:48, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Would you use the edit request process instead of making edits related to the lottery/your company directly? 331dot (talk) 08:51, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your proposed username is just an abbreviation of your organization. per WP:CORPNAME

Hi!
I would use the edit request process instead.

I declare i'm a paid editor and will use the edit request process.
Could I please be unblocked?
Thanks GeorgeatTLClotteries (talk) 23:21, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
It looks like Robertsky removed the block. There is a formal paid editing disclosure to make, which should be done on your user page, please see WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 23:45, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
