Hi. About those images you've uploaded - there's been a misunderstanding as to what counts as one's "own work".

You did not create the images in those screenshots. True, you may have pressed the "printscreen" button, but that does not mean you created the image. You created the file, but not the image within it. Images of the Flickr user interface are copyright of Flickr, which is owned by the Yahoo! corporation.

This is not to say that you can't upload screenshots of the Flickr user interface, only that you cannot label them as "free": because they're not yours, you arem't allowed to declare that you're releasing the copyright. Instead, you can upload them under "fair use".

However, one of our rules is that "fair use" images are only acceptable in articles. They are not acceptable in userpages, even if the userpage is a draft of an article.

So I've had to delete the images you uploaded. I'm sorry. DS (talk) 15:47, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also, if you could help make it clear to your many, many classmates that uploading screenshots of commercial websites as 'own work' is not acceptable, I'd really appreciate that. (I've been working on purging those mistakes for the past 90 minutes, and it's getting on my nerves!) DS (talk) 18:47, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
