Cascadia project

edit

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia! Can you explain the stuff you added to Talk:Cascadia (independence movement)? Is this some kind of school project or something? Or a personal project? It doesn't look appropriate for a talk page, where we usually discuss serious additions to a subject using references, etc. I didn't want to just delete it without discussing with you first, but it will probably end up getting deleted unless you give some explanation of what it's doing there. Cheers - Brianhe (talk) 03:01, 27 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cascadia will become independent with new language
Okay, good luck with your project. I've moved it to user:Gh2d2bvs2d/Cascadia per the process described at WP:USERFY. - Brianhe (talk) 10:58, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Better places to put your Cascadia project

edit

Hi, I'm a random internet person who reads Wikipedia a lot. I've seen your Cascadia project on the Cascadia talk page. I think it's great but unfortunately as Brianhe told you above, things like that aren't allowed on talk pages. The good news is there are places where you can move it to without bothering anyone.

For example, you can make your own "sandbox" which is basically a page where you can do whatever you want. Find out how at WP:ABOUTSAND. Alternatively, you can post it outside of Wikipedia on another website such as http://conworld.wikia.com/wiki/Welcome_to_Conworlds or http://future.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page. Both of those sites will take it, the second one is especially suitable for your work as it is set in the future but the first one is just as good and seems a bit more professional. Check both sites and see which one you think is best.

Your Cascadian "Constructed language" or "conlang" is also interesting. You can put it in the three places above or you can also place it on these two other sites that specialize in conlangs. These are http://conlang.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Main and http://www.frathwiki.com/Main_Page (the first site is probably best though).

Thanks for reading my message Gh2d2bvs2d. I hope you enjoyed it and take my advice. --109.79.116.165 (talk) 14:50, 27 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Karōshi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Night work. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your edits

Hello Gh2d2bvs2d, I appreciate you are trying to edit here on Wikipedia with the best of intentions, but probably you have noticed that I've felt it necessary to revert most of the edits I've seen you making. I'm sorry about that, but please familiarize yourself with some conventions of editing here on Wikipedia. One thing: for technical reasons and as a matter of convention, we don't use curly quotation marks (“…”) but straight quotation marks ("…") (even though the curly ones would mean better typography). I've also seen you making a lot of minor tweaks to wording that either seemed unnecessary or in fact made the wording more clumsy. When you edit, please be careful you know what you're doing and you're certain about your English (I've seen you write "childrens" several time; the correct plural is "children".)

Please don't hesitate to ask me or some other experienced Wikipedian if you have questions about edits you'd like to make. Fut.Perf. 14:14, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Gh2d2bvs2d (talk) 14:30, 11 July 2016 (UTC) Almost everyone use straight quotation marks. I will use straight ASCII quotation marks except on sandbox pages which are safe.Reply
Gh2d2bvs2d, I'm at a loss to figure out how to help you do something useful with your eagerness to edit Wikipedia. Again, virtually all your recent edits have been bad and had to be deleted. Please do not try to improve the wording of Wikipedia articles any further; in the majority of cases you are making things worse. If you continue editing like this, you will probably end up blocked despite all your good intentions. Fut.Perf. 14:56, 13 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for copyright violations and persistent incompetent editing. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Fut.Perf. 09:59, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well, I've blocked you now, as I saw that you weren't just making over-enthusiastic but misguided edits to articles, but were also putting lots of copy-and-pasted (copyright-violating) text from elsewhere on your sandbox pages and were uploading copyright-violating images falsely claimed as "self-made" on Commons. On the whole, I'm afraid my impression is you simply lack the maturity of competence to contribute constructively to this project. That doesn't mean you have to remain blocked forever, but before you ask for an unblock, please do take some time to look around you and figure out what we actually do here and how pages are supposed to be edited. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
