Oh sorry, sorry I was actually talking to a descendant of the Fakir family.... and they stated that. Datar Kaur was also the Maharani ( as she was the one that stayed with Ranjit Singh the most as he didn't get along with Mehtab) so I thought she probably got the title after the death of the first one maybe I was mistaken sorry about that. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Datar Kaur, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nakai (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Naudh Singh

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Naudh Singh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article) and Draft) because of copyright violations in that area.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 03:16, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

You've been previously warned several times for copyright violations, and got a final warning for them in November 2021. In December 2021, you created Yesubai Bhonsale, which was closely phrased to its sources in some places and outright copied from it in others. Compare the sentence "On the expected and sad end of her husband she appointed her brother-in-law, Rajaram the Chhatrapati and on her command Rajaram left the capital fort to safety at Vishalgarh" to what the source says: "on the unexpected and sad end of Sambhaji the Marathas raised Shivaji's second son Raja Ram to the throne [...] Raja Ram was immediately sent out of the fort to a place of safety at Vishalgarh..." you misrepresented what the source was actually saying on top of copying from it. If you want to be unblocked, you must commit to not copying content from sources and demonstrate a better understanding of copyright. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 03:27, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I've moved your unblock request from my talk to your talk. When it comes to unblocking someone for copyright issues, there needs to be clear understanding of what was done wrong and what will be done differently in the future. While I have no doubt you regret anything you've done wrong, your unblock request is a little too vague: you say, "read and understood the issues better now", could you explain what you read and how your understanding of these "issues" has changed? Request reason:

Hello sorry for the late reply I have been busy with some work. Like I said that I am new and still navigating my way. Despite my mistakes in citing i have contributed to and improved many articles. Once I was given a warning as I didn't cite my sources, the thing was and I even explained then that I was still in the process of adding my sources and later on I did. What got me blocked is my written material on the Yesubai page. The thing is I read the books I stated and even added then in the sources in the work cited area. I was under the understanding that we need to use mostly what's written I am extremely apologetic of my misinterpretation on the sources. I assumed if I provided the sources it what's required. I have re read all the rules and regulations and have understood the them much better. If I do get unblocked I do commit to not copying content from sources and demonstrate a better understanding of copyright. Thank you

Accept reason:

If I understand what you are saying correctly, the issue is is that you thought that it was ok to copy from sources as long as you cite them. You're now saying you understand that you cannot copy from sources, even if they have been cited. Is my understanding correct? Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 19:33, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yes that's what I am saying GillRomesLado (talk) 20:04, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I want to accept this, but one thing is bothering me. The sentence "If I do get unblocked I do commit to not copying content from sources and demonstrate a better understanding of copyright" in your appeal is very similar to the sentence "If you want to be unblocked, you must commit to not copying content from sources and demonstrate a better understanding of copyright" in my block rationale; in other words, you copied content when you said you would not be doing it. Could you maybe expand on why you did this, and if you understand what that sentence means? Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 02:53, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh I am so sorry I thought I had to write that "If I do get unblocked I do commit to not copying content from sources and demonstrate a better understanding of copyright"

So sorry I went back and re-read our discussion... sorry I thought I was supposed to wrote that.

I am sorry but I know how I can use quotes and how to cite those and I shouldn't be taking or misinterpreting text without or even with Citation. I will follow the guidelines provided by Wikipedia to edit or create a page.

GillRomesLado (talk) 02:30, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Could you show me how you would now write what I removed from that article with your new found knowledge, using the cited source? You can just reply to this comment with it. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 04:29, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Upon the death of Samabhaji his widow, Yesubai appointed his brother, Rajaram the king of the Marathas instead of her son, Shahuji. Rajaram was sent out to Vishalgarh while Yesubai defended the Raigard Fort against the deployed Mughal army. On November 13, 1689 the fort fell to the Mughals and Yesubai was imprisoned in Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's jail along with her son and other family members.

I have typed this on my phone so I am sorry if the format is a bit off. GillRomesLado (talk) 05:00, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok, that's a good improvement. I have some minor corrections that would make your rewrite read better.
Upon the death of Samabhaji his widow, Yesubai... can become "Upon the death of Samabhaji, Yesubai..."; the widow part can be removed, as at this point in the article we already know she was married to Samabhaji at the time, so we can infer that she would be his widow. It's an unneeded detail; a good way to avoid copyright issues in your writing is to cut out on unnecessary details the source mentions.
Yesubai appointed his brother, Rajaram the king of the Marathas instead of her son, Shahuji. I would change this to "Yesubai appointed Samabhaji's brother Rajaram as king of the Marathas in turn of her son Shahuji.", as I believe it is worded better.
In the next sentence, the word "deployed" can be removed. The last sentence is fine except for the phrase On November 13, 1689 the fort fell to the Mughals which is a bit too close to the source; I would change it to something like "The Mughals captured the fort on November 13, 1689". The source mentions that his happened due to "treachery" from an officer; that's an interesting detail I would recommend you try to work in.
For a rewrite, that was good; you're getting closer to proving yourself. One of your edits to Kharak Singh, where you added the paragraph Alexander Burnes, first ridiculed him in writing by describing him as an “imbecile”, later followed by Henry Lawrence, who actually never met the prince. not all Company men agreed with this assessment. Claude Martin Wade, who worked with the Lahore court for over 16 years and described Kharak Singh as a man with a “mild and humane disposition”, who was “loved by his dependants”. Wade went on to suggest that the prince appeared weak because out of respect never spoke much in his father's presence and in general chose to maintain a low profile. was removed as copied from this source. With the advice I've given above, could you reply to this comment with a rewrite of that paragraph using that source? (or another source if you feel a different one would be better). @Moneytrees: What say ye? Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:16, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I've been preoccupied with other things recently. Your rewrite is alright from a copyright perspective, but could use some changes for clarity/tone. I would change it to "Having worked with Kharak Singh for 16 years, Claude Martin Wade noted that the prince was "mild and humane disposition" and was "loved by his dependants". Other company men such as Henry Lawrence dismissed Singh as an "imbecile"." This is a case where it is ok to quote from the source; the text around the quotes is what you don't want to be similar to the source.

I think I'm willing to make an unblock, given your re writes. With that said, I ask that you keep your article creations in the Draft: space for the time being so they can be reviewed by others. Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:46, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
