Double Entry Book Keeping Intro Example

For instance, to record making §100 in profit would require making two entries: a debit entry of §100 to an account called "Cash" and a credit entry to an account called "Income."
needed improvement but it has evolved since that time to be even less clear -- at least to this layman -- so I'll just refer to your original example: If I make a profit, I can understand why it might be in a credit entry. I can also understand why it might be called cash or income. Why would it be a debit entry? Jim Bowery (talk) 23:05, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
