Speedy deletion
editI noticed that you tagged the page Jazz videos for speedy deletion with the reason "spam". However, "spam" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 22:15, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I just wanted to let you know why I reverted your edit. You removed the user attribution, but how I licensed the photo when I uploaded it, I required the attribution in text. See Image:Michigancentralstation.jpg for the details. Thanks. -Rkitko 07:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. I like the external link idea and will go ahead and change that. I'm not aware of any conventions when that specific licensing is used, either. Thanks again! Cheers, -Rkitko 16:23, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
User link -> external link
editJust curious why you made the user link in Ben oil into an external link? Not objecting, necessarily, but I don't understand the reasoning. Waitak 03:38, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- I changed the user link to an external format link because article links should go to other encyclopedia articles (imho). It might be suprising to a reader to see a normal-styled link to a person, click on it expecting an encyclopedia article on that person, but get a user page instead. --Gnewf 15:42, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, but keep in mind that it's generally not appropriate to credit wikipedia editors in the article namespace. So in most cases it's better to remove the article->user cross-namespace link unless it links someone whose WP account is relevant to the article (e.g. linking User:Larry Sanger from Larry Sanger or User:Jimbo Wales from Jimbo Wales, etc.) --Zoz (t) 10:50, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Bad mood?
edit- Grrrr, this has put me in a bad mood. -- Hoary 06:18, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm often in a bad mood. It will pass. Think nothing of it. Happy editing! -- Hoary 06:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK. I don't quite understand what happened. I suspect some kind of inside joke. Have a nice day. --Gnewf 06:59, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: ImageMagick
editYes, you can edit images with it, but it cannot be used interactively. See the first lines of raster graphics editor. I know one can argue about the definition of editor (e.g., see sed, the text stream editor), but I think the most common use of that word includes user interaction. Maybe the category could be renamed into "Bitmap image processing software". – gpvos (talk) 19:17, 2 July 2006 (UTC) Addition: Sed, the example which I used, apparently isn't in an editor category either; it has been placed in Category:Text-oriented programming languages... – gpvos (talk) 19:24, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Group Mackenzie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb 20:42, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- what the new version needs is some indication of why it is important--size, business volume, notable construction, etc. I recognize that the balance between this and advertising can be rather tricky--the reason I considered it advertising was the "list of services" . I suggest you place an {{underconsruction}} tag on the new article. Good luck with it. DGG (talk) 21:43, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:ExtraHop Logo.png
editThanks for uploading File:ExtraHop Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:46, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
