EWTN

My source is EWTN. Thanks. You could investigate by watching the vid on YouTube yourself, but of course you won't. God bless. But American Catholics will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.85.205.29 (talk) 04:11, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

That's fine if the information comes from a good source. I reverted your edits because you simply didn't cite a source as well as the edit seeming fairly non-neutral(see Wp:NPOV). If you would like to add the information phrased more neutrally and cite a reliable source, that would be great! GoldMiner24 Talk 04:16, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

The Hamptons, Long Island AVA

Hello GoldMiner24. Just noticed your revert on this page. Maybe this is a flaw in the tool you used to make the change, but the edit reverted, marked as "non-constructive", was anything but. The source clearly states 1985 as the year this A.V.A. was approved. The infobox entry of "1988" is what was clearly the mistake. Rolsenharbich (hmmm...) has not posted a note indicating the tool RW's mistake, so I am taking the liberty of doing so. --Alan W (talk) 05:14, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Sorry about that, seems you're right. GoldMiner24 Talk 05:18, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Birk Ruud

I saw you message about my removing information listed under personal life for Birk Ruud. I removed the information, as it was incorrect: he is not the son of former tennis player Christian Ruud. His fathers name was Øyvind, and he died a few years ago. Christian Ruud has 3 children: pro tennis player Casper and daughters Charlotte and Caroline. I apologize for not adequately commenting my edit. 80.203.24.100 (talk) 21:48, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

delete edit

May I know the reason for deleting an edit in an articleSanaa Al-Haib? Although my edit was to nominate the article for deletion as it did not meet the notability criteria. فاطمة الزهراء (talk) 21:24, 24 September 2022 (UTC)

I apologize, my edit was made in mistake. I undid my change immediately when I realized my mistake. GoldMiner24 Talk 21:37, 24 September 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oakdale Public School

If you could revisit the above discussion, everyone voting there seems to be saying you've made a good faith error. I'm here to ask you to withdraw your nomination. As a school, that article would be a Delete likely, but NRHP sites have virtually automatic notability due the depth of the application required to be listed. That document is a reliable secondary source, and detailed enough to completely show notability. I'd generally agree with the essay WP:RTS, this is one case where you can ignore it. Having worked on two different NRHP applications, I can tell you that if that document didn't rise to the level to show Wikinotability, the site wouldn't be on the registry. 174.212.228.160 (talk) 04:38, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks, I saw the discussion (realized I was wrong) and didn't realize I could withdraw it. I'll get right on that. GoldMiner24 Talk 04:44, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

It's been my experience that AfC can be a really enjoyable activity on Wikipedia and it's one of the best ways to learn how the back-of-the-house works. But dayum there's a whole Lotta details. If you just post a !vote to the discussion to withdraw the nomination, someone else can close it, or, if you want to search out how, this is one occasion where it's OK for a participant to close a deletion discussion. I think I've got a link to the instructions on another phone and if I can find it, I'll add it to this discussion. Us lowly IPs aren't allowed to do such things, lol. 174.212.228.160 (talk) 05:46, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Shannon Teresi moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Shannon Teresi, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Cricketer infoboxes

Hello. I just noticed you added an infobox to George Downton. Thanks for doing that. As a heads up, using the Visual Editor to add anything to an infobox is a bit of a nightmare as it creates the code in a way that makes it very difficult for other editors to then edit when using the standard editor. I know it's a pain, but it would be really useful if you'd consider switching to the normal editor when you plan on working on infoboxes. It will make other people's job much easier. Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 20:03, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I usually switch back and forth between the visual and source editor. I just looked back at my edit and it looks horrible! I'm not sure why it's different but most of the time I add Infobox person and in the visual editor, this shows up fine and readable. I'll be on the lookout in the future. GoldMiner24 Talk 20:09, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. Perhaps it's just the cricket infobox - that would be interesting to take a look at and see if there's a difference. I'd never used the visual editor until yesterday when I checked it out after seeing several (not just you!!) ib's that had the same issue. I'll take a look if I remember and see if there is something about the cricketer ib that would do this. Blue Square Thing (talk) 07:26, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
I've been going around and finding pages that don't have infoboxes and adding them. I usually use the standard editor but for infoboxes it makes it really easy so I don't have to remember all the parameters. I checked the first couple of pages I added IBs to, to make sure that the infobox person came out right when the visual editor wrote the code. If you take a look at some of my other edits to biography pages, you'll see they look fine(I just went back to check because your message made me worried that I did them all wrong) and I did them all in the visual editor. I don't know why the cricketer box worked differently and I don't know enough about wiki markup to really look into it. If you find out, I'd be interested to hear about it. GoldMiner24 Talk 07:51, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
Interesting problem - I'll experiment and see what's occurring! I suspect there's a setting somewhere which means it doesn't behave properly. Fwiw I keep a more or less empty cricketer infobox in my Sandbox that I just copy and paste whenever I need a blank one. This is totally because I've never used the visual editor until I tried it out after seeing your edits!! It's here if you need it - or want to copy it into your own sandbox. Maryanne Demasi

Hello GoldMiner24, Yes, indeed I made the change from "promotes" to "presented evidence demonstrating the efficacy of". I feel this is a truer and more accurate description of the subject's activities. In actual fact, there is no source or referencing that would suggest that "promotes" is more accurate, as Demasi does not get paid in any way to present her viewpoints on low card diets. The use of the word "promotes" would suggest that she does get paid. I feel that my change should be allowed to stand. 49.184.168.235 (talk) 04:23, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Sorry for reverting, I believe that you are correct. GoldMiner24 Talk 04:32, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Thats OK, I just like for things to be as accurate and neutral as possible. There is also a lot of 'background situation' to this subject and her work that can't be written in the article as there are no verifiable sources or references that can be made, but basically she has been unfairly attacked and smeared. i'm only trying to give some balance. I'll make the change and thanks for understanding. 49.184.168.235 (talk) 04:44, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi GoldMiner24. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies.
