Thank you very much nick if you could please be of help when it comes to working with the japan project team on Japanese music thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 19:48, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I have no knowledge, or, I'm afraid, much interest in Japanese music, so I don't think I can help you there. Sorry. Nick Moyes (talk) 11:46, 16 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looked to me that you had copied text verbatim from a source, which is a forbidden copyright infringement. Going forward, describe content in own words. David notMD (talk) 20:36, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay thanks so if describe it my self then it will be fine, or is it also likely non neutral Thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 21:20, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Notability tag

edit

Hi. I see you removed a notability tag from Yokohama Harbors but didn't leave an edit summary explaining why.

Could you explain why you did so, perhaps on the article talk page? In future, you need to explain the reasons why you're removing a notability tag. The tag was added only five days ago and no changes have been made to the article since then. MarchOfTheGreyhounds (talk) 14:36, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh I apologise I thought the notability tag was much older and also while I didn’t add anything I did change the importance rating and I assumed, maybe incorrectly? That that meant it would need a lower level of notability, also I was thinking if I was wrong then someone would simply replace it and no harm no foul, if I was in the wrong then please tell me why so I may become a better editor, thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 16:08, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've restored the tag. Notability applies to all articles equally, regardless of their importance rating. Here is a link to the general notability guideline: Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline (we also have one specifically for organizations). The basic problem is that the article cites no sources except the team's website. In order to demonstrate that the team is notable, you would need to add reliable, independent secondary sources with significant coverage of the team - newspaper articles about them, for example. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 16:24, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay thanks I personally I have little to no interest in that subject I was just trying to impose so quick and easy fix’s but I guess I was mistaken apologies and also while your here why has sports of Japan still rated as a start class not offence or ill will intend just curious maybe it could be worth having someone or your self check out. Thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 16:30, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's rated as start class because someone gave it that rating, and no one has reassessed it since. The folks at WikiProject Japan are the ones who would generally handle such things - there's a frequently asked questions section here which will help you learn who does assessments and how they're done. Right below it is an assessment scale you can look at. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 16:38, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Okay thanks sorry I assume you were apart of wiki Japan as the Yokohama harbours seems rather obscure Goldsoldier75 (talk) 16:40, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

No, I'm one of the folks who hangs out and answers questions at the Teahouse. You've asked a few questions there recently, and I often cruise the talk pages of new editors who post there to see if they need additional help. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 16:46, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

May I then ask a question Do you have any clues as to how to find someone who speaks English and Japanese who will be willing to help me translate j-rock news articles for use in wiki articles as the Japanese music project seems rather useless and inactive, Also do you know of any good ways to get pictures of relatively obscure foreign artists as I can of course not take the pictures myself but it has been proving near impossible to find pictures for michiya haruhata and I assume that will be a re occurring problem going forward. Thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 16:52, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

My only recommendation would be to do what you've already done - contact WikiProject Japan. That's where folks who might want to help with such things would probably hang out. Everyone here is a volunteer, though, and they work on what interests them; if no one else is particularly interested in J-rock, you'll end up having to work on such things yourself. I assume you don't speak Japanese well yourself, so you can't go looking at the Japanese Wikipedia. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 17:21, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey Goldsoldier75, don't worry about the mistake, it's easily done! Happy editing. MarchOfTheGreyhounds (talk) 17:32, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wait are those two different accounts or just your ip and your account, also thanks and yes I am afraid that may be the case but I hope someone who speaks Japanese and English may want to work on some j-rock stuff with me. Thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 19:30, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

That's an IP editor, we are indeed two different people. They're nothing to do with me (but they give good advice!). I'm afraid I can't help with the Japanese stuff, but it sounds very worthy. Good luck! Feel free to post on my talk page if you need anything. MarchOfTheGreyhounds (talk) 19:57, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ohh okay cool I’m actually trying to find a translator right now, If I have any future problems about deletion or hound racing or anything else I will be sure to ask you. Thanks Goldsoldier75 (talk) 20:04, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
