Stephen Tries
Stephen Jonathan Lawson (born 9 July 1995), known professionally as Stephen Tries, is a British Youtuber, comedian and rapper. His Youtube channel has nearly 1.5 million subscribers. Stephen was born in Norwich before moving to St. Helens. He joined Youtube in 2013, uploading his first video on 22 November 2014 [1]. He studied Comedy at the University of Salford, and filmed many of his early videos on its campus. Stephen met many of the co-stars on his Youtube channel at university, including Max, Ryan and Tom.
Stephen is most well known for his comedy sketches, with his most popular being How To Be Stormzy, a parody of "Shut Up" by Stormzy. Stephen has appeared in Sidemen Youtube videos, and participated in the 2018 Sidemen vs Youtube All Stars charity football match. Stephen played for the Youtube All Stars team, who lost 7-1[2]. He performed a UK wide stand up tour with fellow Youtuber WillNE in 2019[3]. Stephen was also a co-host with stars from his Youtube channel on "The Stephen Tries Podcast", which ran from 2018-2022[4].
