I appreciate your new article on the Brush Run Church. I note that you write it from a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Point of View (POV). As the article gets linked to other pages, we can expect some edits from the Churches of Christ and the Independent Christian Churches who share the same heritage, but see it from a little different POV, with an emphasis on the Restoration Movement. The goal for any wikipedia Article is a Neutral Point of View (NPOV). I look forward to watching how the article develops. Feel free to reply by editing this talk page. BTW, I am a fifth generation Disciple. John Park (talk) 14:55, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, John

I am a retired DofC minister, but have links to the independent CC's as well. My late father, W. L. Thompson, moved freely back and forth and into the Churches of Christ, as well. I am a member of Cherry Log CC, where Dr. Fred Craddock also belongs. I started this Wiki at the request of Dr. Hal Doster, who plans to add some primary source information that he has in his possession. I am a 5th generation Disciple as well. -- William L. Thompson III

Wow! We have lots of connections to explore sometime. I grew up in Columbus Central CC. Great to work with you here. John Park (talk) 23:25, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, my good friend Tom Stephenson is pastor there. I have served Guyton CC, FCC of Valdosta, and Kirk of the Corners (now Peachtree Corners CC), as well as interims at Watkinsville First, Griffin First and now Johns Creek with Rev. Linda Whitmire.

John: Hal Doster rewrote the Introduction, but it sounded to me more like History, so I moved it to that area and wrote a new introduction. Our plan now is to write a brief statement for each of the voices, which will invite collaboraiton from others. Then he can work any new material into his manuscript for future work. Hal also has some earlier line drawings of the building, which he wants me to incorporate in the article. The commonly used one (the one you posted) is from a later time, when the church had become a post office. What are you thoughts? -- Bill Thompson

Thanks for uploading Image:1844 Brush Run.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:23, 28 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. I cannot figure out how to edit the graphic to change its copyright designation. The system is unclear and confusing.Gooseisland102 (talk) 17:44, 29 July 2008 (UTC) Bill ThompsonReply

Thanks for uploading Image:1844 Brush Run.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 16:18, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
