Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Today’s Scripture
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Today’s Scripture, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Please let me have the draft back for Today’s Scripture. I need it to copy and paste to submit it for publication review. I worked hard on this draft. Please help me get my content back. It’s very important to me. Drafts title was: Today’s Scripture GrammysGirls (talk) 15:16, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
Today’s Scripture
editI was still working at getting permission from the author of some of the content to make sure I submitted the page to Wikipedia without any errors. While doing so, I was hospitalized and can provide proof! Being away from my computer and access to editing and submitting the finished draft of the above titled Today’s Scripture was therefore delayed. Please at least provide me the content of the draft you deleted so I don’t have to start again from square one. This took a lot of collaborative effort to get all the information correct and I do not have a draft saved elsewhere, unfortunately. Please reinstate my draft for me or please, please give me the contents to copy and paste so I can begin again from where I left off in a new draft and quicker submission. Draft notes
editHi, I reviewed your draft and it looks like it's too much like a blog post. It has several issues, which I'll go into more detail about below:
- The page reads too much like a blog post and is written with a very specific viewpoint, which is that it's very positive and glowing towards the program and towards Christianity in general. For Wikipedia the article should be more neutral in tone, giving more of a "just the facts ma'am" point of view.
- You want to avoid point of view descriptive terms like extraordinary, as this can be subjective to the reader.
- This needs sourcing to establish how Today's Scripture is notable. This would be coverage in independent, reliable sources like newspaper articles about the program/church or writeups about it in academic and scholarly sources. You can read more about reliable sources here.
A good way of styling the page would be to look at pages for other churches, such as the ones on Monumental Church or Lakewood Church, for examples of how the article should be written. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 07:49, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! I will get on re-writing it correctly for them. Unfortunately, they deleted the draft. Could I get it back to restructure it according to the guidelines you so kindly pointed out? Much appreciated. GrammysGirls (talk) 05:30, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
