I've updated the link to the new site: [1]. Tho a bit of a chage in focus for my project, may not be too relevant. Luke Bales 01:58, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Evergreen Cooperatives

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Evergreen Cooperatives, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.evergreencoop.com. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:11, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Evergreen Cooperatives

A tag has been placed on Evergreen Cooperatives, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Mr. R00t Talk 21:14, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Evergreen Cooperatives, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.evergreencoop.com, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Evergreen Cooperatives saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! VernoWhitney (talk) 02:19, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

While not a word-for-word copy, the article is a close paraphrase and needs to be rewritten further (preferably from scratch) in order to avoid infringing copyright. VernoWhitney (talk) 02:19, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
I understand your concern about copyright infringement, but I didn't have time to correct the problem within 7 days. Is there any way I can retrieve the text of the article you deleted? I would like to rewrite it, but I can't find it anywhere--it even seems to have disappeared from my list of contributions, and I didn't save it on my computer. I put in quite a bit of work on it. In fact, I thought the text was already rewritten enough so as not to be a copyright infringement. Can you tell me what exactly needs to be met in order for it not to be deleted again? Can you tell me which parts seemed like a violation to you? Did you really think there was nothing at all in the article that wasn't a violation or that was worth saving? Maybe that's true, but since I have no way to look at the text now, I don't know how to fix it.
Please at least send me or let me access my original article. If it's possible, I would also like to recover the text I wrote on the discussion page, just for me to see at least. GreatBigCircles (talk) 23:06, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi. User:VernoWhitney is on vacation. I saw your note at this talk page, and as I'm the administrator who handled the listing and actually deleted the article after the time period, I believe I can help.

Problematic text continued in text like the following:

Workers earn a living wage and build equity in their firms as owners of the business. The first Evergreen Cooperative businesses – Evergreen Cooperative Laundry, Ohio Cooperative Solar, and Green City Growers Cooperative – are launching in 2009–2010. Evergreen is a partnership between the residents of six Cleveland neighborhoods and some of the city’s most important “anchor institutions” – the Cleveland Foundation, the City of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and many others.

From the source:

Our workers earn a living wage and build equity in their firms as owners of the business. The first Evergreen Cooperative businesses – Evergreen Cooperative Laundry, Ohio Cooperative Solar, and Green City Growers Cooperative – are launching in 2009–2010.... Evergreen is a partnership between the residents of six of our city’s neighborhoods and some of Cleveland’s most important “anchor institutions” – the Cleveland Foundation, the City of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and many others.

There is more problematic text, but perhaps comparing the rewrite with the original can be of help here. Changes are relatively minimal.

While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation - including both structure and language - are. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism".

Alternatively, if the material can be verified to be public domain or permission is provided, we can use the original text with proper attribution.

In terms of your further question to Verno, when the bulk of an article is a copyright violation that has existed since an article's foundation, it generally needs to be started over to avoid creating an unauthorized derivative work. While we do try to salvage articles where the content is not extensive, I'm afraid the majority of the article was problematic.

We do not generally restore material once it has been deleted for copyright concerns, but if you wish another opportunity to work on it, I can bring it back for a few more days to grant you access to the temporary space in which to complete a rewrite. Please just let me know at my talk page if you think this would be helpful to you and if you are prepared to move forward. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:06, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

All right; it's back. Again, we don't generally do this, so please let me as soon as you're finished with it. :) Liability concerns are slightly different on restoring problematic text, so it's best not to keep it lingering any more than we need it to. I've also restored the talk page, per your request, so you can review that conversation. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:39, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry for my delay in responding to your note; I missed it in my list and only found it when investigating to see the state of this article. You are welcome to create a new, re-written article in that space. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:54, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
