This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Miasolé, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.atel.com/ventures/profiles/miasole.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:34, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Miasolé requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Addendum: Hello, I just deleted the article; as it stood, the article was problematic on other counts too. Specifically, it didn't explain the notability of the company in question. I think the best course of action would be to rewrite the article completely in your own words (without taking any material verbatim from other websites) and provide sources that say why this company is notable. Look at the articles on similar companies for examples. As a hint, you can use user space to draft articles. Hope this helps; happy editing. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 16:03, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, apologies if the deletion seemed a bit harsh; we just generally delete all similarly created articles about companies that don't have any claims of notability. Generally speaking, if you want to add a biography, article about a company or web page, you should mention the claims of fame as early as you can. We get a lot of articles about companies and thus we have to have certain standards. Maybe you did have plans to add the claims to fame to the article; however, in many more cases, these articles are simply left to languish. And as for copyright infringement, as far as I could tell, you only rewrote one sentence - generally we try to delete all material that is copied from other sites and that is easy to replace with non-infringing material. That said, copyright problems weren't exactly severe in this case.
In any case, please remember that this deletion was mostly prevention against letting seemingly non-notable corporations languish among the articles. Feel free to rewrite and recreate the article if you feel it satisfies the notability criteria as described in WP:CORP. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 09:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
