1. Answer: It's not confusing to me at all. New Years Tour is counted as one total result. However FIS counts them differently at ranking table, where there are total of:
- http://data.fis-ski.com/pdf/2015/CC/2343/2015CC2343WCDI.pdf (16 events in distance)
- http://data.fis-ski.com/pdf/2015/CC/2345/2015CC2345WCOV.pdf (27 events in overall)
Example: some TV sports journalists say (claim) that Petra Majdic has 16 World Cup wins, others claim she has 24. So, both could/should be right.
2. Top 30 is just to many data, there is no need for that, top 10 is totally enough. Alpine skiing World Cup season, the most visited FIS page uses only Top 5 for many years with no top 3 colors.
3. No need for to more frames and more colors. Less is more. Wikipedia should be more simple not more complicated.
4. The point is all FIS seasons should be unified and simplified in on the same way.Sportomanokin (talk) 16:01, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

I understand your reason but FIS database gave victory to Heikkinen and Oestberg, their victory counts increased 1 after today's races, on the other hand Nilsson's and Ustiugov's victory numbers did not change. (Nilsson's given 3rd place, her number of podiums increased 1) I'm confused right now. Pedeshtrian (talk) 13:19, 4 January 2017 (UTC) | |
Thanks for the answer. FIS is also not consistent at all. Last year at pursuit in Ski Tour Canada they gave victory to Weng , who passed the finish line first where Johaug set the fastest course time. (She was given 2nd place). Now, they do the opposite. I really don't understand official cross country page of FIS. Petra Majdic is given 24 victories with 16 world cup and 8 stage world cup races which is OK, there is no question marks about her record. Some don't count the stage victories and give 16, some count them and give 24 to her. My question is not that. Problems arise from pursuit races because there is no consistency in FIS about who got the victory (fastest one or the one crosses the line first). For example Heidi Weng, she has 6 victories according to official site: 2 world cup races (overall in this year's Nordic Opening and the last world cup race in La Clusaz) and 4 stage world cup victories in last year's Tour de Ski and Ski Tour Canada. As I mentioned earlier the pursuit in Ski Tour Canada should be given to Johaug considering today's case (Heikkinen over Ustiugov or Oestberg over Nilsson). So in that case her victories are down 5(2 WC and 3 SWC). I |

FIS Cross Country World Cup
editHello. I added all the available information on the List of FIS Cross-Country World Cup champions page into the FIS Cross-Country World Cup page which is quite insufficient compare to other winter sports' World Cup page. Since I am an ordinary user, I want to inform the editor who is interested in that particular sport. Best regards... Pedeshtrian (talk) 23:48, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
