Sandbox page move

edit

Hello,

I noticed that you moved the sandbox draft I had of Jean-Roch Coignet to its own article. Since I haven't touched the draft in some time, I don't mind the move so much now that the article can stand on its own, but I would have appreciated it if you had let me know about this out of courtesy before making the move, although I do recognize that user pages are treated as community project pages. Wellington retreat at Waterloo

edit

As we are so far off topic I thought I would reply here. The whole point was that Wellington was not going to retreat through the forest of Soignes, presumably if one takes his word on this he would have retreated roughly along the line that the I Prussian Corps took or possibly the road to Louvian or depending on the country somewhere between the two. The Forest of Soignes and the Woods of Ohain would to a limited extent of acted as a defile through which to retreat and to put up a credible rear guard action. I must say that when I read a couple of years ago, it I was surprised because I had always assumed that the best explanation for Wellington leaving a reserve of 17k at Halle was to cover his retreat. -- PBS (talk) 07:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
