I agree with your observations. I personally would like to see a discussion of Fedderson's bizarre decision that the character of Buffy never reach puberty - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FamilyAffair and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NotAllowedToGrowUp . The Nolans
editWhy are you always removing references to the Japanese years, they are as relevant as any other period in their history. If you read the facts about them , you will see they were incredibly popular there, its all official albums, and the most interesting part of their work. You cant remove official references done by other people. If you remove it again you will be reported to wiki for vandalism. --Gazer97 (talk) 19:58, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Leaving a response here since the user in question shows up as a redlink . . . I'd have no problem with suitably sourced information in an appropriate format about the Nolans' career in Japan being added to the article. A huge chunk of unsourced text in list format (which is what we are arguing over) doesn't fit that description, hence the removal. The same text has also been picked up by vandalism detecting robots, so I don't think it's just me either! Gusworld (talk) 06:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- From what I see most pop articles/discographies are not sourced at all. Also where are the references for the earlier Nolans songs in the article? For your information the reversals by bots were originally done in our favour to re-insert the Japan references because they had been removed for badness by certain individuals tittywitch and lotsofsnails (9th January), not because of anything to do with non sourced material. We reported this to wiki at the time as vandalism, hence the intervention by wiki staff etc. This information is all correct as we have the actual cds etc. At the time of the reported vandalism, the Nolans themselves were made aware of what was happening, and I received an email from their representative most annoyed that the Japan references were being removed. Finally, any errors on the Japan years etc. will be corrected in time by the author. --Gazer97 (talk) 00:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's no dispute that the article as a whole needs many more references -- but that's not an excuse to add a massive amount of unsourced material, not written in appropriate format and potentially inaccurate by your own admission, to it. Nor is the fact that other articles aren't perfect. Some of the bot edits certainly have targeted this material -- see [edit] for example. What the Nolans' representative thinks isn't relevant in this context, as they don't own the article; Wikipedia policy is what matters, and this content is a pretty clear violation of it in several respects (lack of sourcing, lack of appropriate tone). I notice that you're also ignoring the related problem of references to bootleg/fan compilations, which clearly don't belong here, and that you keep re-adding a fan site which hasn't even been launched yet. Wikipedia is not a link farm. At any event, I'm going to look to others to intervene in this discussion, as we're clearly not making any progress! Gusworld (talk) 04:06, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- there certainly is a problem here. my friend has written all the text about the videos and the japanese years, as she has them all. the albums are all official. how can we source material that no one semeed to know about, and would never have appeared in wiki. this peroid was a very important time for the nolans, and a hugely sucessful one. again there is no malice intended with any reversals, but the fact that all this started because some idiots took chunks out for badness.

Hopefully, she will, but i think MJ has more of a chance, at least he had a hit album this year. Her boy friend should stop sleeping around with mariah carey, then she would have a hit. Realist2 (talk) 23:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

editTrue, but "disappointing" is POV enough that it would need a source. Mind you, I suspect it won't be long before one appears at the rate the album and singles are selling . . . Gusworld (talk) 23:18, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Feedback
editHey i noticed you only allowing a max of 18 charts. I agree in this in principle but dont think its fair that france should be kept off the list while America has 4 places. I think the American one's need cutting down to allow countries like France back on. Your call, get back to me. Realist2 (talk) 17:39, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I dont know the solution but giving america 4 places and stoping france going on is absurd, wikipedia isnt for americans only. Realist2 (talk) 23:05, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Should the citations go in the peak positon box?, ive always thought they look beter there.here --Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 03:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Ive always thought that citations should go in their specific coloumn, as some tables have like 6 sections. On a side issue, something i would like your help with, the Michael Jackson article is currently on FA. Its doing very well with 6 votes in support and just 2 in oppose, those who oppose still has concerns about it needing a copy edit. Ive had a good go, could you also take a look, you might even believe yourself that it qualifies for FA. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 03:40, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
If the sentance is not worth keeping it can go that no problem, ive just never believed that the exact date over trivia issues needs sourcing, im a GA reviewer and i wouldn't worry about it. If the sentance is so none important then the specific date is even less so. Cheers please look at the MJ article, its quite urgent, it will probably pass but i need to be certain. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 04:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Please go ahead, ive made 1,200 edits to that article now, im open to ideas. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 04:24, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I was going to ask you actually, only three people oppose FA, the only reason, spelling, grammer and pros. If it has a good copy edit then it will pass. Im gonna take care of a few things on Feed Back. Good job over there. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 05:16, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Copy-editing request
editHi there. I am writing for your assistance for the article NeXT. It is currently up at FAC, and has done very well so far, but one reviewer has noted the article needs a copy-edit from an editor not already involved. I am the main contributor, and would love to see this finally become a featured article (it's failed three times already). A list of the main issues which need addressing can be found at Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/NeXT. Please let me know if you can get around to copy-editing this within the week. Thanks! — Wackymacs (talk) 18:35, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I chose you because I noticed you have copy-edited FACs before. Thanks for the speedy reply. — Wackymacs (talk) 07:43, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- A huge thank you is well deserved! I have notified the editors at the FAC that the things they pointed out have been fixed. I have made further edits, and have tweaked the article based on your suggestions on the Talk page. Please take another look if you have time! (I struck some things out on the Talk page) Thanks again. — Wackymacs (talk) 10:35, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Please take another look when you get the chance. I have made further changes, and most of your issues have been solved. (Except for the additional content you think should be added.) Thanks for your help. — Wackymacs (talk) 11:14, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

It would be great if you had the time to run your eye over the article and do any copy-edits. Sometimes it pays to have a set of fresh eyes look over the article. Dan arndt (talk) 09:11, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. I see you haven't done much work on The Nolans page lately, but I remember you asking if "Harry my Honolulu Lover" was a single, well I can let you know that it was. In fact, I found a whole load of releases on this site. I'll let you put up the info as you've already done so much work on it. Ross (1983 album)
editHi, I saw how you tried to clean up this article several times, but it seems it's all in vain, for it's rubbish again within no time. I figured out it is User:Bokiluis who leaves, on everything involving Diana Ross, only peacocked, unsourced, and POV edits (as is the case on the aforementioned article). I made a notification on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. I hope you care for leaving your thoughts concerning this matter on the aforementioned page. Best regards, Robster1983 (talk) 18:29, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Never mind, it's old news already. Warned the user twice, though, and notified Wiki-AIAV. Robster1983 (talk) 21:14, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
