Hi, Gwolf! I am glad you show interest in editing on Wikipedia. However, altho Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that everyone can edit, that does not mean that everything you add will be acceptable. I have removed your recent edit to Westview High School (Beaverton, Oregon) for a few reasons.
- Wikipedia areticles are not written for an intended audience of people connected with the subject of the article. For schools, that means that anything that would be primarily of interest to the students, parents and alumni is not included.
- There are further content guidelines for specific catagories of articles such as schools. One thing we never do is discuss faculty or students by name. there are some exceptions to this, but naming a specific teacher and providing biographical info about her will almost never be acceptable. Before we mention an accomplishment, it has to be of certain level. The full guidelines can be found at WP:SCH/AG.
- We have a policy here called WP:UNDUE. What it says it that the amount we write about any given subject must be in proportion to the importance of the given subject to the subject of the artile as a whole. (That could be worded better. If you have questions feel free to ask at my talk page.) We wouldn't want to have any more content on the choir thatn we do on the band, the forensic team, etc. BTW, those sections on this school need quite a bit of work too.
- And lastly, the issue mentioned in the automated message I sent you above. We do not publish things that come from the writer's knowledge. Instead, information should be referenced to a verifiable, reliable source. I realize that the article in question is severly lacking in that department, but that is no reason to make it worse.
