Request reason:
My account has been blocked as a sock puppet of another person's account. I have not met them before and I was wrongly associated with them. I also could have been blocked for improper formatting which I have also sought to resolve. Other users may have also been upset by my grammatical corrections on certain articles with simple mistakes like fixing you're to be your where appropriate.
Accept reason:
Per discussion below. Not everything adds up for me, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:21, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- You are blocked as being a sockpuppet, not for any of your edits. Let me try and save some time. As a checkuser has discovered that you are one of three sockpuppets springing from a primary account, just denying it is not going to work.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:05, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- @HMstudent: You were blocked because WP:Checkuser tool confirmed this account shares IP addresses and other technical data with three other accounts (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Ashishchopra778/Archive#Clerk.2C_CheckUser.2C_and.2For_patrolling_admin_comments). Can you explain how that happened? Vanjagenije (talk) 21:37, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
The issue is that I am unaware exactly how that might have happened. I guess it could be from some of the numerous amounts of public wifi's I use or from the large amount of times I use a computer at my school with my wikipedia account where other students can also log in on the same computer.
- @Bbb23: This account made just one edit that seams unrelated to edits made by other connected accounts. Is there some possibility that this user is innocent? Vanjagenije (talk) 13:09, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
I think I found the reason. My school uses an email service called FirstClass. There is a girl at my school on the email service by the name of the username of the account I am said to be a sock puppet of.
- You created your account on December 15, 2016. Your first edit was on January 9, 2017. I blocked you on January 25. You didn't edit in between January 9 and 25. You didn't post your unblock request until June 6. From that history, it wouldn't seem that you have much interest in editing here. If you were unblocked, what would you do on Wikipedia?
- The email service is irrelevant to the CU results. If you happen to know the name of the Internet Service Provider your school uses, assuming they use an external one, that would be helpful. Of all the edits you've made, particularly recently because I assume you remember those better, where have you made them and with whose computer?--Bbb23 (talk) 14:32, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
I have had an interest in editing here. I unfortunately have been too busy to go through the appeal process like this which is needed to prevent trolls. I just didn't think that it was fair to appeal and then not start editing until the summer as I usually need a fair amount of time to make proper edits. I do not know the exact computer but I do know that there are a few computers in our school library where I had logged in. Also, I have logged in to some computers in our computer lab which all students have access to. I am unaware of the internet provider but my best guess would probably be optimum or Comcast.
