What Wikipedia is and how it works

edit

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a social media site. Wikipedia is not a job posting site. Wikipedia is not a place for "enticing customers." We can and do block users who are not here to build the encyclopedia. If you would like to work on the encyclopedia, keep in mind:

Hamad olatunde (talk) 08:58, 7 February 2017 (UTC) Does it necessary to write proposal before getting project on Wiki-pedia?Reply

Hi Hamad olatunde. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and if you have an account you can create articles without prior permission (see this essay for a simple how-to guide). However, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory or a social media site - if you try to use Wikipedia for promotion, advertising, SEO or spam, your account will very quickly be blocked from editing the site. Good evening,I don't know a day to start feeding my home with my own experience online. If someone can tell me a day to start managing myself with internet ideas,I will be happy.

I think you mistake the purpose of Wikipedia. It's an encyclopedia created by volunteers, a project we contribute our time and knowledge to for free, not something which pays us or allows us to make a living. If you're looking for a day to improve the encyclopedia, there's no better day than today. If, however, you expect your work on Wikipedia to feed you, you will very likely be disappointed and should spend your time working on a job, not editing Wikipedia. Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedia's support page

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Wikipedia's support page, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:18, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have made a total of 16 edits to Wikipedia, of which 11 have been either you asking us to give you a job, or your asking our help in getting you a job elsewhere. This is not, and never will be, something with which we can help you; Wikipedia is a volunteer project in which unpaid volunteers collaborate to produce an encyclopedia. (We do have a very few paid employees, but they are all in highly technical roles for which specific skills are required.) If you want to write for us—unpaid—and are willing to follow our rules on how to write articles and which subjects are appropriate for inclusion, you're very welcome to participate, and the links at Wikipedia:Introduction may be of some use to you. However, if you continue to disrupt Wikipedia by asking inappropriate questions, you're likely to be blocked from Wikipedia, as you're wasting the time of numerous people who have to clean up after you. ‑ Iridescent 13:26, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

You need to understand that Wikipedia does not allow advertising, and discourages paid editing. I suggest that you find somewhere else to earn money. You will not be popular with editors here if you keep trying to sell your services on this website. Dbfirs 19:18, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sir,I am looking for your help to unblock my page.Thanks.

You've already been given clear instructions above. If you want to be unblocked, explain what you intend to do on Wikipedia and how you intend to do it. From your contributions so far, you've given no indication that you understand what Wikipedia is and what Wikipedia isn't; specifically, that Wikipedia is not a social network, not a place to post begging letters, and not a place that will pay you for your contributions. As I've already told you, if you want to contribute constructively to Wikipedia you're very welcome, but up to now you've done nothing but waste other people's time. ‑ Iridescent 18:45, 15 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

NeilN Yunshui Why do I get the suspicion this is yet another sock of User:Hammadsaeed? Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 04:20, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Offhand I don't see any behavioral similarities. --NeilN talk to me 04:34, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
NeilN I think that at this point, Hammadsaeed would know better than to go back to creating and editing the articles that got him blocked multiple times. My intuition is telling me it is him, however, based off the name and obvious trollish behavior. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 04:46, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Whether he is or not, I'm not really inclined to let him waste much more of our time. Ian.thomson (talk) 04:55, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Since I got pinged: I haven't run a CU since I see no behavioural similarities - this user has different interests, different editing habits, different syntax... If this came up at an SPI, I would decline to run a CU, too. Maybe you're seeing something I'm not, BV, but nothing in this user's activities suggests to me that it's Hammadsaeed. Yunshui  08:40, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yunshui Well, the name, as well as the overall non-competent behavior just gave me a suspicion. Hammadsaeed is also up to the same old, same old on the Simple English version of Wikipedia, so I figured he hasn't given up wasting our time yet. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 02:57, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, User:Hamad olatunde/sandbox

edit

Hello, Hamad olatunde. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. LinguistunEinsuno 10:27, 28 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
