Question about RfC
editHey HamiltonthesixXmusic. In this edit, you removed the February 4, 2024 tornadic event from the Tornadoes of 2024 page. In the edit summary, you mentioned updated RFC guidelines? What RFC discussion are you referring to? If you mean the discussion for WP:TornadoCriteria, that discussion has not passed the RfC “vote” yet. Also, it would be a section under those guidelines due to injuries caused. So yeah, could you link what RFC guidelines you are referring to? Thanks. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 16:52, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Weather Event Writer, first off I sincerely apologize if I was too rash, I only recently joined this community. But I was under the impression that the RFC vote concluded a few days ago? Not sure how to access the full discussion board but I deleted the February 4th section because it seemed not notable enough to me (no injuries + 6 weak tornadoes).
- Again, I’m sorry if there was any procedure to deleting sections I missed. Thanks for letting me know of this issue! HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 00:20, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hey HamiltonthesixXmusic! Don't worry and no need to apologize! I was just curious and was trying to piece some things together. So an WP:RFC, or Request for Comments, is a 30-day long discussion. So for the WP:TornadoCriteria discussion, it started on 13 March 2024 and is set to end 13 April 2024. You are welcome to comment or even leave an !vote (a bolded "vote") in it if you wish to here. But yeah, just note I am not mad or anything like that. I was just trying to figure out what discussion was being mentioned. Also just a side-note, February 8 seems to be a weird thing that may need discussed by itself. The DAT ([1] indicates the EF2 caused an injury, but the NWS preliminary survey ([2]) says 0 injuries. So there is source discrepancy involved, so it may or actually may not qualify for a section. I honestly am not sure about that. Either way, hopefully that helps. If you have any questions at all, you can ping me in a reply message with {{u|WeatherWriter}}, or you can message me on my talk page! Cheers and keep up the amazing work on Wikipedia! Problem Article/User
editToo tired to explain. Lots going on right now and lots of mess to deal with. I know we talked about article quality slipping, and our effort to get things back to acceptable quality. This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm talking about:

- You need to stop. Just straight up. Calling to your fellow editors for un-needed help is 100% over-the-top and unnecessary. Calling on others to delete an article is also more likely than not a violation of some rule.MemeGod ._. (talk) 18:00, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- Look, I do not know what is going on. But TornadoInformation12 has a point, and to be frank I have seen some low-quality wikicruft from you before. Also, this is my userpage, so all users are free to contact me here.
- I will look further into the situation, but jeez how has this edit conflict spilled this far? For God's sake, both of you need to take a break from editing. HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 21:05, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but there's nothing you can do about it. I don't "need" to do anything, and can discuss what I want, with whom I want as along there is an objective to it. Want me to stop? Improve, learn, and do better work. Until that happens, I will do what I need to do to keep things on track and up to par. You are going to have to either improve your work, or deal with me having these conversations and held accountable on a regular basis.

- Hi, I haven't been active for a while, so I missed out on the April outbreak section and stuff. So I will check the articles out and update article quality to firmly established guiding precedents.
- Also, you sound really exasperated! I really want you first take care of yourself and maybe take a break for a while. I will handle the work that you have done so far and keep chipping away at low-quality items.
- Take care now. HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 21:01, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
Hey (from a fellow music theatre fan)
editHey there, I just wanted to reach out, separate from the ongoing discussion. I saw on your user page that you're into theatre, same here actually. I'm often a music director, or the rehearsal pianist. Sometimes the discussions can lead to editor resentment, but I never want that to be the case, so I just wanted to chat, IDK, say Hi, maybe reach a common ground. There have been other weather editors from Texas, by the way, which has resulted in List of Texas hurricanes , with a series of sub-articles. On the other hand, there isn't a List of Texas tornadoes, although there are ones for Hawaii, California, New Jersey, and Connecticut (among other areas). Not saying that you have to be the person, but if you were interested in such an article, I'd be interested in helping write that. A lot of times, idealistic proposals sound wildly fanciful, until someone decides to do something about it. So this is me doing something about it, wanting to extend an olive branch, and pitch a project, from one music theatre fan to another. If I learned anything from my years of doing theatre, the collaborative spirit that is essential to any success. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:04, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, yea, I know there are a shit ton of Texas tornadoes, but if you restricted it to EF2 and above, there are only 334 going back to 2000. That's doable. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:12, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hmm. Not a bad idea...
- Heck, I'm all for that! Going to create the article now! HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 21:37, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Hink, thank you for reaching out. First and foremost, I want to be clear that I have no personal beef against you or anyone else in that discussion; obviously, we have many differing opinions but it is nothing personal. If there is anything more, it is probably my own fault. I do get stubborn and refuse to compromise on what I think are fanciful notions a lot, but just as quickly as I harden up, I forget about it easily too lol.
- Regarding both of our likings for musical theatre, I want to say that I actually used to be a theater kid back in high school. I watched Hamilton live on Broadway my freshman year, and that is what really cemented my passion for it. I remember my favorite shows were playing Linus in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and The Crucible. Best years of my life.
- Haven't done much musically or theatrically since high school, since my college years were during the pandemic and I was struggling academically. But I still enjoy flying out to NYC and watching off-Broadway shows with my Northern friends!
- Again, thanks for reaching out to me! It means a lot to me to see a fellow theatre enjoyer on Wikipedia as well, and you are exactly right about the collaborative spirit of theatre! Cheers, friend! HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 21:49, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- I loved You're a Good Man! I just music directed it literally two months ago. It was a bitch having to teach A Book Report on Peter Rabbit, especially for the people who assured me they would learn it at home (they didn't). As for stubbornness, meh, it's a sign of passion. That's a good thing, but it's tough to direct sometimes. I also played piano and wrote the music for an off-Broadway show (which, no, probably isn't notable enough for its own article, only a six week run). And as for Texas tornadoes, yes, that's the spirit! If you need something to base it off of, I recently finished List of California tornadoes. I realized that majority are F0 and F1, and they aren't that important, unless you're going for completion. But Wikipedia is never going to be complete, and that's OK. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:04, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Hey BTW, I started a Draft:List of Texas tornadoes, and pitched the idea to Memegod. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:39, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
Toblerone for you! :)
editMemeGod27 has given you a pack of Toblerone bars! Chocolate promotes WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Toblerone bars are wonderfully delicious! Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a pack of Toblerone bars, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
Hey, I know we aren't that good of friends, but after hearing about the floods in Houston I just wanted to make sure that you or your relatives are all safe. I don't know how bad Austin has it, but I know that sometimes it's best to make sure. I hope we can start over, and be decent people towards each other again! :D

I have a somewhat abandoned draft article you can help me with
editI invite you and anyone else who wants to to edit Draft:list of particularly dangerous situation watches. It seems as if that article has sorta been forgotten about. We’ve only gotten down to 2020 (for completely listed and in some cases not even that far) and if I recall, the entries only go back to 2018. There’s still a lot more in IEM archives. Your help at expanding the list to mainspace ready format would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. (Ps I have sent this message or a variant thereof to a bunch of other people trying to get folk’s attention) West Virginia WXeditor (talk) 19:44, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
- @HamiltonthesixXmusic, If you are going to reply, please do so on the article talk page. There is a similar discussion going on there. Do not reply here. Thank you. West Virginia WXeditor (talk) 21:55, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Austin area Wikipedians? Visit my class?
editGreetings HamiltonthesixXmusic,
I'm reaching out to you because you're an active Wikipedian from the Austin/San Antonio metro. I'm moving to Austin soon and looking to connect with Wikipedians in the region. I'm a Wikipedian and Wikipedia researcher / scholar coming to UT Austin as an assistant professor in the School of Information. I teach a class on online communities where I have my students do a project where they will make contributions to Wikipedia and I love to create a chance for them to meet a serious Wikipedian and converse about this experience. I'll be teaching this fall Semester and I'm looking for folks who might want to visit.
Would you be available and interested in this? If not, do you know anyone to recommend?
Also, I saw that there was once an Austin Wikipedia meetup, but it is inactive. I am open to organizing the meetup again, if there might be a handful of people who would regularly attend. What would you say about that?
My website is https://teblunthuis.cc . You can learn more about me there. I haven't updated it yet with my new position though.
Thanks for reading this email and editing Wikipedia. Sincerely,
Nathan TeBlunthuis Groceryheist (talk) 23:28, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
List of Virginia hurricanes
editHey there HamiltonthesisXmusic! I saw on your user page that you have a connection to Virginia. I've probably mentioned it before, but I'm trying to get every US state to have a dedicated list for the tropical cyclones in a given area (plus tornadoes in a given area). Given that Virginia is outside of the hurricane belt, the worst storms there were "only" a Category 2, like the 1944 Great Atlantic hurricane, or inland storms like Camille, Floyd, or Isabel. Just wanted to check about any potential interest. I could help set up the article if so! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:54, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Hink! Ive been quite busy recently so I have been taking an extended wiki break, but I would be down to create such an article! I’ve lived in Virginia for two years before, so not too familiar with its history but like I said, it sounds interesting and challenging enough for me! I’ll work on it later, peace! HamiltonthesixXmusic (talk) 18:33, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Well welcome back then! I made Draft:List of Virginia hurricanes - a basic layout for what the Virginia hurricanes article should look like. There's a great resource already out there by David Roth featuring accounts of Virginia storms before 1999. So the hardest part will be getting the storms since then. Quite a few storms have articles, so that could be a good place to look. You can't copy the words from articles, but you can use the information and write it in your own way. I wrote the summary for a few storms so you could see how much/little to include. Camille, being one of the deadliest storms in the state, had three lines, and that's not very long. Most storms should just be a sentence or two, depending on what they did. What do you think, does that seem doable? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:12, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes Improvement Time!
editHello there! I am sending this alert to all members of the WikiProject Weather and editors who have recently edited in the realm of tornadoes.
There is a large and important discussion ongoing, with the goal to completely overhaul and improve the List of F5 and EF5 tornadoes. The previous improvement attempt back in 2022/2023 gained almost no participation. This alert is being sent out so these discussions hopefully gain a reasonably-sized participation, so the F5/EF5 tornado article, one of the most viewed weather-related articles on Wikipedia, can be improved for all readers!
If you wish to participate, please visit: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Weather/Possible F5/EF5/IF5 tornadoes. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 17:35, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
