Help desk question

In addition to the advice you received at the help desk, you might want to look at an existing book cover with proper documentation. I always find it easier to work from a good example and simply modify for my own purposes. Please see Image:Revenge of the Lawn.jpg. If you upload a book cover, you can simply copy (while in edit mode of course) and paste the content from that page to the image page you create, and tailor just the few parameters that would change for your image upload.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:35, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

(Duplicating from my talk) You're welcome. You have to upload here because the Wikimedia Commons is only for free content. Fair use, which you are going to be using here, is verboten on the Commons. On the left hand side side of this page you'll see a bunch of links under the heading "toolbox". The second to last from the bottom is marked upload file. That's the link to set you on the process. In the page you are taken to, one of the links is marked "A cover or other page from a book, DVD, newspaper, magazine, or other such source." The link in that sentence is what you want. This is a direct link there. That page attempts to guide a user through the process of placing a fair use rationale, but since I've already provided the code, simply blank the content in the "Summary:" box and ignore the licensing box at the bottom. Just go ahead and upload the file (since you already uploaded an image to the Commons, I take it you are familiar with the process of clicking on browse and choosing the relevant image you wish to upload from your computer). Once that's done, click "edit this page" and paste all the content from the example image I provided previously (while in edit mode) and replace the few parameters that are different. Voila! I used Defaultsort: {{DEFAULTSORT:Sanchez, Trinidad, Jr.}} It's a 'magic word' template that will show the software how to sort an article in all of its categories. Thanks for your message. That's interesting about the pattern baldness. I didn't ever notice that to tell the truth. Martin was a curious fellow, and quite a character obviously. I try to keep an open mind about him, and to see his strengths as well as his weaknesses, of which there were obviously a few as well.
