Gaal madow war moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Gaal madow war, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Ajuran portugese wars

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ajuran portugese wars requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ajuran-Portuguese conflict. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. power~enwiki (π, ν) 03:28, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Avalite civilisation/kingdom

edit

Please do not mix AD/BC year notation with CE/BCE year notation.

Please can you figure out how to do citations for books. I corrected:

  • Avalites, Periplus (2014). The Roman Empire and the Indian Ocean. Casmate: Raoul McLaughlin.

to

Do you see the difference? The guy who wrote the book was Raoul McLaughlin, so that goes in the bits for author (first1= first name, last1=last name, if there are two authors, then first2= second author's first name, etc for as many authors as there were). The publisher was Pen and Sword, so that goes under author. We need to know the page numbers, especially as the link to Google Books does not work for everybody - it did not work for me.

There are lots of statements that have no citation, so we do not know where they came from.

The first line says "Avalites was a term the ancient Greeks used for a city in the Northern Somali coast" - well that needs a citation - and it would be best if you explained what you meant. For example, which ancient Greek author called it that? The source that you used for this information, will tell you what source it used.-- Toddy1 (talk) 23:08, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Another issue you want to think about is that there is already an article on Zeila. So your new article needs to tell us a lot about the place an its people during the time of the ancient Persians/Greeks/Romans.-- Toddy1 (talk) 23:13, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
