Purpose of User Account
editHi! My name is Hannah, and I created this wiki user page as part of an Arizona State University class assignment, but that isn't to say this account will not lead to other corners of wiki. I am driven by a passion for ethics, media literacy, and justice. In pursuit of these ethics, all of my writing is produced with the Four Principles of the SPJ Code Of Ethics in mind, with an emphasis on principle two: “minimize harm.” Digital media literacy has a number of definitions and applications, but for my purposes, I have adopted the definition coined by NAMLE (National Association of Media Literacy Education) and used by Arizona State University, which defines media literacy as the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and act using all forms of communication.
In Fall 2023, I will be graduating from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Literacy and a minor in Art History. My time at Arizona State University has been focused on analyzing and producing media in the pursuit of responsible and ethical consumption and creation. I have always loved reflecting on the questions facing today’s world, and I find it even more fascinating to do so in an analytical and active manner.
