Prosa SA/SD/RT Modeller is a very notable Structured Analysis tool and widely used globally
1. Google hits You can’t get hits with ”Prosa SA/SD/RT Modeller”, because people do not use the full modeller name. They use the name Prosa. In Google searches you have to add something to the Prosa to narrow the search to the specialty area of Prosa. Searches like Prosa Structured Analysis, Prosa Diagram, Prosa Data Flow Diagram, Prosa State Transition Diagram, Prosa Entity Relationship Diagram, Prosa Prolog file give better impression of Prosa's notability in Google.
2. Prosa is notable
- Prosa is in every-day use in numerous notable companies all over the world in industries like telecommunications, automation, car manufacturing, machinery, banking, insurance, defence/military, etc.
- Prosa has established a leading position in the SA/SD/RT tools (during the last several years).
- Structured Analysis method is notable(, since already is in wikipedia)
- Structured systems analysis and design method is notable(, since already is in wikipedia)
For this reason the supporting software tool must also exist in Wikipedia.
Hannu lehikoinen (talk) 03:33, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- I ran a search using "prosa" and "modeller" without quotes around them, so in theory every indexed page that mentions Prosa along with any indication that it's a modeller would come up, and there were few relevant hits, 259 including irrelevant ones. If you have references to provide that I'm not seeing and that meet the requirements for indicating notability for software, then you should add them to the article.
- Notability is not inherited. The fact that "surgery" is notable doesn't mean that every company that manufactures surgical tools is notable! Likewise, while structured analysis is notable, it does not follow that every tool ever created for conducting structure analysis is notable.
- In the meantime, this is not where the deletion discussion is taking place. You need to be making your case at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prosa SA/SD/RT Modeller, as indicated above. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:47, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Please try Google search: Prosa Structured Analysis
This search gives you the correct picture about the notability. Prosa is especially a software tool for Structured Analysis (SA/SD/RT).
Hannu lehikoinen (talk) 06:46, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Why are you declining to carry on your discussion at the page where people involved in deciding the fate of the page will read it?
- If the application's name is Prosa, why are you loading extra words into the title, and such arbitrary ones? There's already a Prosa that's about something else, but in that case the conventional way to distinguish it would be to name it Prosa (software), for example. Then you wouldn't be leading people to run a Google search on "Prosa Structured Analysis Tool", which yields 9 hits, forcing them to conclude that no one is discussing the product. —Largo Plazo (talk) 15:52, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Now I see that Prosa UML is a separate piece of software (for which you created a separate article), so Prosa could refer to either. I also see that the two articles say almost the same thing. So might it be best to have a single article, Prosa (software), that describes both instead of two separate articles? —Largo Plazo (talk) 15:58, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. This relates to any article involving Prosa or any of its products. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:06, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Largo Plazo
- Thank you for your help and advice.
- Conflict of interest article:
- I have honestly presented on the author page my relationship with Insoft Oy - the company behind Prosa. As far as I have understood also tool vendors may write articles, unless the articles are not marketing oriented. Our article is neutral and only gives a short list of facts about the tool. If we consider generally such tool articles, I think that only an author being somehow related with the vendor of the tool could really open a new tool article. The other authors will naturally complete and give new perspectives to the articles later.
- Conflict of interest in reference list:
- I have included in the reference list only "SA/SD/RT training course manual" directly from Insoft (this reference can be removed if it causes Conflict of Interest). I think that the training manual deserves its position there as valuable source of method information. The other article authored by Insoft's person Mikko Tervonen is a conference article, which has been reviewed by the conference organizators in Norway. All the other authors of the references do not have any relationship with Insoft and those all those references have been selected so that they have passed very strict review cycles.
- All such material like press releases, sales brochures, release notes, advertisements, links to web market places, etc. have been left deliberately off. When I made a short review in Wikipedia dealing with software tool articles, I must say that it is difficult to find as neutral tool article + reference list as Prosa article is. Especially it seems the articles from large companies do have quite terrible lists of references.
- Anyway thank you very much of your continued interest in our Prosa Tool and the article. This has been very informative also to me as a new author to Wikipedia.
