Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya page

Hi

It is possible that any edits you try and do will be lost until I have finished. Also it may cause an edit conflict and cause me to lose lost of work.

If you are looking for something to edit please can you try and fix this page Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways which needs some work to be saved from deletion. In particular it needs refs from the main Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya page copying over to it.

Please learn how to use the word "the" in sentences. You keep leaving it out and then someone else has to come and fix it.

Please note these lines were completely deleted by you, while editing. Do not preach me, first see you faults. There are lot of people helping wikipedia, correcting spellings, and edits. You are getting a little too personal with your comments - I am not preaching, I have had to add "the" about 100 times in the article.

You need to see your faults first too - that is leaving out "the" in sentences.

I am not arrogant - and your are out of order for suggesting such a thing.

I will take criticism when it is correct, constructive and given in a non-insulting way

You cannot simply sdit a page, leave in lots of mistakes and not put in any references hoping someone else will come along and fix it. You need to take responsibility for your mistakes and I am helping you.

My statements were in no way to hurt you. I was bit upset with the way of you had put comments on my page. However, I do not mind saying sorry, if you feel hurt. Further, I had mentioned word Gazetteer only preceding & not English Gazetteer. Anyway, I do not want to discuss these trivial issues. Further, you cannot blame me alone for "the" issue. Other editors are also responsible and these type of mistakes happen, when someone is translating from a different language. I would not have talked back in usual circumstances but since you have been pointing me fingers, I would also like to point one back at you. And once again, try and understand why these additions cause problems. Thank you for correcting the "Gazetteer" problem.

The reference is not a good one. It is not a notable website, it really needs a reference which includes a link to a proper website.

"Rai Sahib Gopal Nanji Tank of Kukma donated funds to start the Vidarbha Ayurvedic Collage and a Hospital, which has been named the Gopal Nanji Tank Hospital, at Amravati."

You need a reference that shows that he started it, it was named after him, or he donated fundsn - not just a website that says its name and address - it needs to be at least some sort of official site, newspaper, local government, university/college etc. The only ones I can find are all sponsored and do not mention "Gopal Nanji Tank Hospital".

The addition "on building Diu Fort and ( looking at their expertise in builing Fort ) the Portuguese called them Mestre." is also a problem as it has to have a reference to show this fact. Did they just name the builders and stone masons or all the men, women and children?

I am trying to help you because these articles can easily get much worse over time and if it unreadable then there is no point in having them. Similarly articles which have references which are no good will become hard to defend when they are challenged and put up for deletion/merge/cut-down a lot. Hi!!, I think I will have to admit I am little poor in using the word "the".

However, regarding using the word Mestre. The Portuguese used this words (obviously) for the male members of Kadia (community), who built Diu fort, as a words of appreciation of their skill or mastery in building fort. (As now you have also done research, you know the meaning of word mestre translates to expert, master, teacher and so Portuguese must have had a reason giving them name mestre ) The words were used for all the Kadias working. ( Ref : Kadia Kshatriya ithihas : 1896 & "Kadia Kshatriya Abhudaya" ) Women of Kadia community do not work, so question of calling them mestre does not arise. KGK Community were known as Kadia Kshatriyas only and both living in Saurashtra & Kutch are own same history. However, the group which later migrated to Kutch, came to be called Mistri also by rulers of Kutch and made their distinct history & identity by building forts, temples & palaces in Kutch and later by building Railways, Dams, & docks in British India. All the land revenue records of Kutch mentions their name as Mistri (caste) even today ( therefore Other Backward Cast Certificate is also given in name of Mistri only ) although they are more popularly known as Kutch Gurjar Kshatriyas, though-out India. I have also therefore improved upon Mistri (caste) page. In gujrati language Mistri means and expert in building house in present days ( as nowadays there are no kings who would build forts, palaces & temples ). But the word originally was used for architects, who were expert in building forts, palaces, temples & also engraving beautiful murals, designs & sculpting. There is another word Raj-mistri, which meant the person emplyed by the King or kingdom for doing such jobs. (Raj - literally means Kingdom & Raja means King. This can be said to synonym of Gaidher. This word Raj-mistri has been adopted in Hindi language and is commonly used word even now to denote or identify a person, who is over-all in-charge of any such building project. Like, if someone goes to a construction site and wants to meet the main person in-charge. He would ask Where is the Raj-mistri ? See Google Book sear result for word Raj-Mistry [1] and Raj-mistri [2].

And also there is chapter on Raj-Mistri [3] in The tribes and castes of the North Western India , Volume 4 by William Crooke. Although, I am not sure the caste Mistri and Raj-Mistri are one or different. Hardyraj (talk) 02:50, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I am glad we are "on the same page"/"talking the same language" now :¬)

The Mistri page - DO you have a reference for "today identified with people, who are expert in Building Construction" - it would be great if you can find one, preferably one that we can see online, if not one from a book.

You also need to put more information into the references "Kadia Kshatriya Ithihas : 1896" and "Kadia Kshatriya Abhudaya : Kutch". THe author and publisher are fairly important, but most important is giving the page numbers!

The Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya page - "name of Mistris of Kutch."

1. We do not use bold in articles except in the first line - the rules for this are laid out in the MoS (manual of style) and if you need me to give you the link I will gladly do so.
2. Where you have changed the link from Mistri to Mistri (caste) the article is talking about the whole community. Instead of changing the link that was referring to the defining of the term Mistri, which must be done first, you should have added another sentence after it to explain how the name became linked to the caste. - Their artistic skills got them called Mistri, they later became known as the misrti caste. I have corrected it.

The main lead is too short for the size of the article and needs to be made longer. I will start that on a separate page in my sandbox and will put the link here so that we can discuss it without making lots of changes to the main page.

Deletion of Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways

Hi

I realise it is a setback to have the article deleted. Unsourced material is the biggest problem in Wikipedia and as the closing admin has not accepted the bibliography I am also a little upset that the article has gone.

I am trying to get the text put into a sandbox so that it can be worked on and hopefully this will be done.

Railways article

Hi

I hope all is well with you. Although it was deleted, an admin allowed me to put it in my sandbox area so that references can be added and the article tidied up and Wikified.

Once the work is complete we can try and get it back as an article again, but that means a lot of hard work between now and then.

At the moment the article is at User:Chaosdruid/Kutch_Gurjar_Kashtriya_contributions_to_Indian_railways. I would ask that you do not move it from there until the work has been done as it will reflect badly on me and the admin's trust I have may be lost :¬)

I have also informed Jethwarp of the location so that we can all work on it there.

Hi!!. Sorry I was away from wikipedia for long time. The article was deleted but was an important article. If the admin does not accept biblio. then how can we put up the article again. There are on on-line biblio available. As said earlier, the biblio are in Gujarati language and had to translated to create the article Hardyraj (talk) 05:19, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

There is nothing to prevent the book being used as a source. Wikipedia MoS states that an English source should be used in preference to an non English, where one exists. I will try and find someone who can help with the problem over the next few days.

Hi!! I am fine I recently had a change of place and upset with other problems. So had been deliberately out of wikipedia. Further, the books of above article are packed in some boxes, when I shited.
