editSee WP:User access levels#Autoconfirmed users. Usually the threshold is 4 days and 10 edits, but it can be different sometimes. Have you tried editing a semi-protected article today and not been able to do it?
Since I'm an administrator, I can override the system and make you "autoconfirmed" without waiting. But first, could you tell me what article you are trying to edit and what changes you plan to make? rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:11, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- In the meantime, you can also suggest edits to semi-protected articles by going to the talk page attached to the article and placing the
{{editprotected}}
template, along with a description of the change you're suggesting; that will alert other users to the page so that they can then make the edit for you. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:14, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- If you're having a content dispute/disagreement with someone, then you shouldn't be editing those pages anyway; please see WP:Edit warring for the guidelines about this. Instead of edit warring, you should be discussing things and trying to read a consensus. Therefore, you don't need to be editing the article right now; instead, you should be posting a message at the talkpage to try to discuss these things. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:11, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- No, that would be edit warring. This is not my dispute and you can't ask other people to do your dirty work for you. Like I said, you need to start a discussion with the people you disagree with and try to reach a consensus about what to do. See WP:Dispute resolution for more information. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:24, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- If that's not enough, you can always start a discussion at the article's talkpage and invite more editors than just him to participate. Appropriate ways to get other editors to comment are to leave notices at relevant wikiprojects (such as WP:WikiProject Armenia) or to file a request at WP:Third opinion. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:40, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- What you and your friends are doing is called canvassing or vote-stacking: recruiting people off-wiki to come join Wikipedia and support you in a content disagreement. It's not appropriate, and not effective anyway because Wikipedia works by consensus rather than majority vote. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:47, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
