Ifield Water Mill
Great article! A couple of comments though, would the article be better titled as Ifield Watermill (similar style to Rolvenden Windmill and others). Also, I think the article would benefit from a description of the machinery in a similar way to Draper's Mill, Margate and other windmill articles. Mjroots (talk) 15:56, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
We agree that this is a brilliant article. So interesting and we would have never found it if it hadnt appeared on DYK. Look forward to visiting the Mill later this year. Thanks. --Charles (talk) 11:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Signature shenanigans
Hey Hassocks, thanks for your message. I tried fooling around with some stuff in my signature to (hopefully) make the unicode fonts display less horribly for browsers that don't have them installed. Sometime when you're on your work computer can you take a look at this message and let me know if it's still not working? Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 21:32, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

GAN for New England Quarter
I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. Caps
Thanks for the note. I edited the template, so now both lowercase and capital forms of New/Expanded work. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 23:51, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
New articles
Just wanted to congratulate you on another high quality Crawley article! It's really great to see your work coming together. Have awarded a much-deserved barnstar - which I'll let you resize as you see fit, since I've not the faintest idea how one goes about it! P.S. Have added a photo of St Mary Mag church in Bewbush also! Tafkam (talk) 10:33, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

For continued high quality contribution to the Crawley family of articles. Tafkam (talk) 10:32, 15 February 2009 (UTC) |
Moved here accordingly. Will put small version on the userpage. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!)
- Further congrats on the mammoth task of working you way round town. It has been said that much of Crawley was designed on the 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' principle of navigation: why waste time painting out roadsigns to defend against Nazi invasion, when you can just design the place to be completely incomprehensible to outsiders in the first place! Sadly I don't have photos of any of the other locations mentioned.
- What are your thoughts on including mentions of the chapels at Gatwick? Not really within the town, but within the borough. Tafkam (talk) 12:24, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes - that seems like the most sensible approach to me. Tafkam (talk) 13:30, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Which edit notice would you prefer?
The only thing left to do to make the transition from {{DYKsug}} to {{NewDYKnom}} is to get in everyone's face and tell them to use the new one. So I've been working on a new edit notice that would alert people to use the new template; at the same time, though, I've been trying to make the sample template in the edit notice easier to use. Could you take a look at Version A and Version B and let me know which one you think is easier to understand and more useful to people who might want to copy-and-paste the example when they're nominating? (I know they both look kind of huge right now, but keep in mind the first three lines or so are mostly the "newsflash, it's a new template!" part, and after a week or two they would be removed and only the instructions would be left.) Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 22:55, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
reliable source
Hi Hassocks5489, I'm really worrying about my DYK nomination now. I believe both the article and the hooks are interesting. May I please ask you why you believe that my source # 6 (MacKillop, James (2004). A Dictionary of Celtic Mythology. Oxford University Press. ISBN 0198609671) is not a reliable source? May I please also ask you what part of my hook you find not reliable - the one that talks says that Elez Yeun is said to be the gare to hell, or the one that says Archangel Michael saves the souls? Thank you for your time.--Mbz1 (talk) 13:42, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Crawley Hospital
Hello - I'm not sure where you got the figure of 143 from, but it doesn't sound too far from the truth. I'm not sure how hospital beds are defined in such statistics but it seems that the local trust, including the larger East Surrey Hospital, has only around 500 beds [1][2]. A document by the West Sussex PCT dated April 2008 seems to suggest just 74 beds at Crawley, plus the Urgent Treatment Centre[3](PDF), as does their website[4]. It seems that services are not what they once were at Crawley! Certainly I'll try to look in on the neighbourhood articles when I can! Tafkam (talk) 13:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Tapsel gate
The Tapsel gate article is very nicely done and is an enjoyable read. Thanks for bringing it to Wikipedia. --Boston (talk) 16:43, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
- Fascinating article, I must pop down to Pyecombe to see it. You state :- They can be opened easily, in either direction, with a small push; they are therefore much easier to negotiate. Why is it do you think that they are so rare then? Regards Paste Let’s have a chat. 17:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
