Norfolk Hotel

Hi Matt,

Thank you for contacting me on this issue. You should have no problems moving Norfolk Hotel back to Norfolk Hotel, Fremantle and turning Norfolk Hotel into a disambiguation page. Just be sure to use the "What links here" link on the sidebar and retarget the links accordingly; there should be no incoming links to the disambiguation page from the body text of articles. Let me know if you have any further questions.

The Keep, Brighton

Thank you for your article on The Keep, Brighton. I learned about it too late, otherwise I would've gone and papped the Queen for the article!Zigzig20s (talk) 17:51, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

I'd rather you did the Norfolk Hotel and Embassy Court and other topics while I'm still here for three weeks.Zigzig20s (talk) 05:16, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Looking forward to it.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:33, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't think I can find much more. Does your citation say which churches he designed in Hove and Newhaven?Zigzig20s (talk) 21:19, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
OK. Not a citable reference, but Nemeth says the Congregational Church is now the United Reform Church. Built on land owned by his father, who btw has a bus named after him and wrote a sermon (or a book?) about colonial slavery (it would be great to see if we have enough info to create his page--he died in 1870, but I can't find his birthdate).Zigzig20s (talk) 21:37, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Btw can you please add a citation at the end of each sentence when you edit his page, to avoid confusion? Thanks.Zigzig20s (talk) 22:46, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Where did you find his birthdate? We need a citation for the first sentence.Zigzig20s (talk) 23:22, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I apologize--it was me. Second google hit, which can't be used as a valid citation. Can you pls help me find one? Anyway, I think it looks fine for now--the only thing I'd like to investigate are the churches he designed, especially if they are listed. Thanks for expanding it.Zigzig20s (talk) 23:32, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
I did when I created it actually, with this link, but I didn't cite it because obviously it's not a valid citation.Zigzig20s (talk) 23:45, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
I wonder if we could take a picture of his tomb? Maybe not so easy to find it--it must be in the Extra Mural Cemetery--never been there.Zigzig20s (talk) 00:03, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I think the Central United Reformed Church here, probably deserves its own page. Is it not listed?Zigzig20s (talk) 01:27, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I'll ask a councillor and a parliamentary assistant that I know to get it listed. I'd like to create a page for his father--there must be a lot to it--pastor, has written about colonial servitude, major landowner, aristocrat's relative...--but most of it must be buried in some archives somewhere. Do you have much in your books?Zigzig20s (talk) 12:35, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Also, regarding a picture of his tomb (and his father's), if you know where it is, I could go during the day. I work from home, so I can go in the afternoon and then work in the evening, etc. So on a sunny day, I could go (though it's a bit creepy to take pictures of tombs I think).Zigzig20s (talk) 12:36, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I wonder where we could find the names and dates of his wife and two children as well?Zigzig20s (talk) 12:37, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Also, could we get pictures for your paragraph, "To the rear of the hotel, the land redeveloped in 1985 with an ornamental lake and new rooms replaced a garage which had been built on the site of some livery stables. An 19th-century arched gateway survives from this, leading from the hotel into Norfolk Buildings (a short street); it has a black-painted horse's head on the keystone and the inscription rebuilt 1875"?Zigzig20s (talk) 12:44, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm especially surprised/intrigued about the "lake"??Zigzig20s (talk) 12:55, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
How would I add a sandbox to start his article and see where it leads me? If we can make it a reasonable stub, I think that could be fine for now. What I don't want is to create a stub and get it deleted by someone who thinks he was just another pastor. Also if you want to improve Embassy Court soon, that'd be great...and I see the good work you're doing on Bedford Place--I often eat oysters on the corner there--I wonder how long that restaurant's been there. Also, if we could find notable guests for the Norfolk Hotel, that'd be great. Sorry to reply all over the place! Terrible weather today, so absolutely not a good way to go out and take pictures of tombs...Zigzig20s (talk) 13:58, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh btw. You may be interested in expanding this John Wells-Thorpe. Perhaps some of the red links are unnecessary.Zigzig20s (talk) 15:31, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Btw. I think the owner of the Norfolk Hotel is Accor, as Mercure is just a brand.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:59, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

All sorted now, ticked and good to go. Noticed that the Antram/Morrice book details had been omitted from the Goulty bibliography so copied it over from the Norfolk Hotel one. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:20, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
