editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Joseph F. Ware Jr.. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.
Please join the discussion on the article's talk page and make your case for including the material there. Cheers! ——SerialNumber54129 13:02, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Joseph F. Ware Jr.; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Hathalm, please do not edit the article directly to add information about yourself, and please stop edit warring. There is a discussion at Talk: Joseph F. Ware, Jr. which you are encouraged to join. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 13:51, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Talk page replies
editJust a quick suggestion, if you want a slightly better user interface for replies in discussions, you should install the Reply-link tool. You can either do it yourself by editing Special:MyPage/common.js and adding the line {{subst:iusc|User:Enterprisey/reply-link.js}}
. Or Enterprisey can install it for you. Hope that's of use. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:13, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Hayden Griffin (engineer)
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Hayden Griffin (engineer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Almy (talk) 21:35, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
as reviewing admin, I did not delete the article. It might possibly show importance , but it does not yet show notability. I'm going to move it to Draft space so you can work on it --see the notice below. DGG ( talk ) 00:02, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Hathalm. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Almy (talk) 21:36, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
Hayden Griffin (engineer) moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Hayden Griffin (engineer), does not have enough information and sources as written to show notability by the applicable special guideline WP:PROF I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Jenna Ware
editIf you apply a speedy tag to Jenna Ware again, I shall block you for disruptive editing. Conversely, please start an AfD discussion about the article so that you can get the opinions of more people. I hope the result will be "speedy keep". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:10, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- RHaworth, I don’t know what you mean. I am a living person and the person the article is about. I did a request deletion, and also the author asked for deletion. I am not being disruptive, nor would I be. Please delete the page per my request and the author also. Thank you. Jenna Ware AKA Hathalm Hathalm (talk) 13:48, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
"Don't know what you mean"! For goodness sake! AfD is a link. Follow that link and read the instructions there about how you can start a discussion about whether the article should be deleted. Is that really too difficult to understand? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:04, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
- RHaworth, if you insult a pleasant person like Mrs Ware again, I will block you for incivility. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:53, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you, Ritchie.
