Central Pashto

edit

A tag has been placed on Central Pashto, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 21:56, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I've spent many happy hours underground, and I enjoyed looking over your references. You seem to be having a rough time getting photos into Wiki without being tagged by a "bot". If you thought it is complicated: you were right! But some photos are more difficult than others. I think you might be in luck with at least one of your pictures. (Maybe all of them.)

An approach is this: 1) You own the original picture. Nobody else has rights to it, not your company, not the photographer. Nobody else. 2) You upload it to Wikipedia. You fill out the forms: you give it away. You no longer own it.

This is pretty easy to do. Here's an example of a photograph I took, that I gave away: [1]

Another approach is to take the photo from someplace where somebody else has already given it away. Often photos from here are used: [2]. "Filling out the forms" for these photographs is easy.

There are many situations. In many cases a photo is owned by somebody else who has no intention of giving it away to the public domain. In these situations often there is no way to use the photo in Wikipedia.

Please let me know if you have questions. Piano non troppo (talk) 03:59, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Autobiographies

edit

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Hayatullah Khan Durrani. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. You are continually editing your own autobiography, most of which is having to be reverted, can I suggest that you allow others now to edit the article for a while and only for you to only revert any factual inaccuracies? Words to avoid

edit

I think you still do not understand what Wikipedia is about. It should be reporting what verifiable reliable sources have to say. You need to read WP:Reliable and also WP:Words to avoid as words like 'prominent', 'important', etc. should not be used. Thanks. dougweller (talk) 15:26, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adding to what Paste says above, please also read WP:Autobiography. Thank you.

Suggestion

edit

Content is included in this encyclopedia based on verifiability and notability. So if there are sources for the content you are adding that is what is needed. Otherwise anyone could just say anything. You can remove or prefereably archive messages on your talk page. Please let me know if you have any questions.
