FMF Stie Caps/Goals
editThe femexfut site is a very good site but unfortunately it has many errors as far counting the caps for players and the goals scored. For example, I am sure you and everybody knows that La Seleccion Mayor has only played 1 game in 2008, right? Well do me a favor and look up Jonny Magallon. It shows him playing 2 games already in 2008 with 180 minutes of play. Now if you actually click on the JJ ( Juegos Jugados ) column a pop-up will appear showing the games he actually played for that year ( 1 against the USA ). In the case of Rafael Marquez, they made the same type of error on 2001 showing him with 14 caps when they can only account for 12. Also 2005 they show him having 10 caps but they can only account for 9. I know you must be thinking that this info might not be enough but I also have another site that I use to confirm Statistics. It is the Rec. Sport Soccer Statistics Foundation or www.rsssf.com. Now this site is a little more complicated but more accurate because it also deducts any game that Fifa deems not a full A or unofficial. In the case of Rafael Marquez, rssf.com only has him having 78 caps, because they subtracted one that Fifa did not consider official back in Feb 1999 against Hong Kong and have not added the 1 against USA that happened 2 days ago. I hope you find all this info. helpfull. Anyways here is a shortcut that will show you Rafael Marquez Cap and Goal history with la Seleccion Mayor. http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/rmarquez-intl.html Now when I was posting that he had 80 Caps, I was actually not deducting the Hong Kong game beacause I thought it was going to be harder to explain my numbers. So I left him with that cap and was asking people that use the FMF site to verify for themselves, and realize that the FMF site has errors when it comes to certain players. The rsssf site dedicates itself to collecting Stats and Records from around the world but it takes longer to update changes. If you have any more comments drop me a note. Thanks.
Move functionality
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. 66.57.4.150 (talk) 06:07, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Hazerduz! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 43 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Juan Antonio Ocampo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Carlo Stefano Rodríguez - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Sergio Pérez
editI have reverted the article to Pérez' common name. He is never referred to by both his surnames in the press or anywhere else. Also, if you want to move a page which nearly 400 other articles link to, especially if you're too lazy to change all the links, you will need to establish a consensus on the talk page first. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:08, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Excuse me or not, don't move it again. You clearly have no idea about the reasons for moving articles. This is the English language Wikipedia, not the Mexican Wikipedia. We have disambiguation already in place for these articles, and moving them to titles which nobody will ever search for is not acceptable. Read the guideline WP:UCN. Obscure names are not appropriate for article titles. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:39, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- You have to be kidding anyway! There are three Sergio Pérez articles on Wikipedia - one is a non-notable baseball player whose article is going to be deleted, another is a footballer who is almost completely unknown outside Mexico, and the third is a world-famous Formula One driver. No disambiguation is required at all for his article, he is the primary topic without question - the hatnote leading to the disambiguation page is all that's needed. Also, I see you didn't update the disambiguation page after you moved the footballer article. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:45, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- Do NOT call me a racist unless you can back that up on an admin page. How dare you?!! What possible grounds do you have for that? If you don't understand what I'm saying, and you clearly don't - then ask for clarification. Accusing other people of racism is absolutely not acceptable on Wikipedia. You talk about me getting banned - I want you to report me for racism right now - do it now. Either do it right now or apologise immediately. Your comment on my page is disgraceful and I will remove it as offensive and unwanted. Report me or apologise. Any other comment on my page will be deleted. Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:51, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Apology accepted. There was no racial or derogatory intent in the statement "This is the English language Wikipedia, not the Mexican Wikipedia." It was in direct response to your statement: "In Mexico, everyone uses both the fathers and mothers last name." I know that, I used to live in Spain and I know about Hispanic naming customs. The point is that in English usage for Hispanic names, both surnames are not used, only one is used and the English Wikipedia follows this usage, not Spanish-speaking usage. I really don't see how you thought that was racist, it's a simple fact. If you had talked about the English language Wikipedia as "the US Wikipedia" I would have taken no offence. People say it all the time. It has nothing to do with criticising anyone's country. It is important that you do not accuse people of bad faith unless you are very sure, as it explains in Wikipedia:Assume good faith - it can get you into trouble.
- I made no attack on you at any time, I can only imagine you don't like my phrasing: "especially if you're too lazy to change all the links" - that is not the personal "you", that is the general "you". Imagine the more formal "especially if one is too lazy to change all the links". If there is anything about moving a page that you don't understand, you can ask me or the page Wikipedia:Moving a page can help you. Bretonbanquet (talk) 02:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. If there's anything I might be able to help you with, just let me know. With regard to the Sergio Pérez disambiguation page, we usually disambiguate articles about people using the term that readers are most likely to know, their job - in this case "footballer", "baseball" etc. Sergio Pérez the F1 driver has no disambiguator because he is the primary topic, the most important Sergio Pérez. Most people looking for a Sergio Pérez are looking for him, so the name must direct to him. The note at the top of his article helps those people looking for a different Sergio Pérez, by sending them to the disambiguation page. That is the way we usually arrange it. If you see a situation that looks wrong to you, the best thing is to ask on a talk page or the appropriate WikiProject talk page (like Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Formula One) before moving anything, because it may be that editors have discussed it before, and they can help you. Invite to the African Destubathon
editHi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:12, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!
