Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

• Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
• Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
• Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. I am aware that on the German Wikipedia, company names as usernames are permitted and even encouraged, but they are not allowed on the English Wikipedia. Each username must be exclusively operated by a single individual as indicated by the username(it doesn't have to be your actual name). A few years ago, accounts were made global across all language versions of Wikipedia, although each version of Wikipedia still has its own username policies. You will need to propose a username for yourself and only your use. We can permit you to create your own account later if you don't wish to rename this one, but you will also need to address your violations of the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. 331dot (talk) 20:19, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

• So what is the point of making user names global when, as a consequence, you then say: "Ha ha! Now its illegal"? It doesn't make any sense to have global accounts and, at the same time, conflicting local policies. Maybe time for a rethink? Hbs~dewiki (talk) 20:30, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

If you can get them to force all Wikipedias to have the same username policy, fine with me, but I'm working with what we have. The editors of different language versions have different priorities and in some cases laws.(in the US edits must be attributable to individuals) 331dot (talk) 20:40, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Does this mean user names are attributable to an individual because the user name is a "name", that is something like "Jane Doe" (which, however, could be shared by a number of people) ... nevermind anonymous edits, as frequently more than one person will be using the same IP address (while one and the same person will likely be using different IP addresses).
