Regrets

edit

I am so sorry but that is a little beyond what I can do around here. Looks like everything has been done by the book and then some. Keep up with the conversation and making points. I hope this can work out. Red Director (talk) 17:55, 15 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Bank Lombard Odier & Co, and I noticed that your username, "Hello at LO", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. kingboyk (talk) 00:08, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I note your disclosure on your user page, and further note that you have been trying very hard to work within our guidelines, and I really appreciate that. However, we do require on the English Wikipedia that accounts are not shared. Therefore, I need to ask you to create an account for each person on the team (if there is more than one person editing), as in the "Sara Smith at XYZ Company" example given above. Thank you for your continued cooperation. --kingboyk (talk) 00:25, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and sorry for the late reply. We (but it really is an I here) have a verified account user:LODHcie in French and German, but because we'd been told that in fact, this has no relevance here and that company names couldn't be used, I figured Hello at LO was innocuous enough (and a pretty good pun). The example I've seen was Arturo at BP, I think, and in a way it is much more directly impersonating the company than I do (nobody here would speak of LO; we rather use La Maison, LODH or Lombard Odier). Either way, I'd rather not use my real name on the internet, but if I need to start pretending I am Bob or Samantha let me know. Hello at LO (talk) 15:49, 15 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Actually I've found this Template:Verified_account, but I suspect that if you are not aware of it it is not as used as on other wikis. Happy to shoot another email there though if that can help. Hello at LO (talk) 15:58, 15 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
