- Just wondering if there might be a clearer way to present this paradox (but I don't want to tread on your work, since I don't really know much about this subject). It seems that the paradox works equally well if Monty and Marilyn each place new bills on top of their stacks, but when they pay the Devil, Monty takes from the bottom of his stack and Marilyn takes from the top of hers. This sidesteps the awkwardness of having to deal with probabilities in Monty's stack. Does that make sense? Does that sound like a good idea? Or am I missing something here?
I think the take-from-the-bottom-of-the-stack version is a nice variant between the two current versions, but I like the probabilities (and they appear in the original Usenet post this whole article is based on). Perhaps it would make sense to put this version into the discussion somewhere.
