Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Herefordherdbook. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Hereford cattle, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

There is no conflict of interest the World Hereford Council online page has somehow disappeared and noone knows why - therefore the history etc has been updated until someone can clarify what has happened. Wiki also has an entry that makes no sense saying there is a floating seat of arbitration for World Hereford Council. I am not updating that I was updating the link on the main page about the history which already had the WHC on it.. Herefordherdbook (talk) 22:34, 11 November 2023 (UTC) It is disturbing that wiki would have such incoherent information up on wikipedia making false claims of a legal jurisdiction following a person - seriously - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Hereford_CouncilReply

"The Headquarters of the Council are based in the country of residence of the Secretary General (Uruguay, as of 2015), and move with each new election" - which was evidently edited by conflicted person themselves and quoting themselves https://www.hereforduruguay2016.org/. I am not updating that 'stuff' as www.herefords.com is now gone and the charity ceased to be recognised as I put on the main page with all the accurate and uptodate information - without anyone paying me.

It hasn't disappeared, it's at World Hereford Council - not "Wold". the world hereford council www.herefords.com page has disappeared ie the website you are still linking to it when it is no longer and has not been for 8 months ? https://www.herefordcattle.org/world-hereford-council/ are also linking to it hence explaining that it has no legal personality - all the updating I did was to align the page with the norwegian red page as the page is shambolic ChaotıċEnby(talk) 09:07, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
no conflict of interest - it looks like who ever set up the entry is from the USA, and I am in Europe where the breed originates - so just aligning it with an excellent entry Norwegian Red - which explains things about the breed and the recording system in a compressive format . There is no European registry system after brexit and one is being established under the approval of the EU. I don't see how updating this to be factually correct has an element of 'conflict of interest' and our organisation is not mentioned on this as we are not approved by the EU and it is an offence to claim we are authorised. So let me know why you think there is a conflict of interest. Thanks Herefordherdbook (talk) 09:40, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm not the one claiming it. ChaotıċEnby(talk) 10:04, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
aligning the page with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Red Herefordherdbook (talk) 10:20, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am not being paid by anyone and have no conflict of interest as I have already told you. the page I am editing is based on an entry from the USA and not UK and the page is being aligned with the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Red which is a proper page with details of the breed history and the breeding programme . I am doing the same for the breed - no one is paying for anything. Herefordherdbook (talk) 10:29, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

As I stated already I am not being paid by anyone and have no conflict of interest as I have already told you. the page I am editing is based on an entry from the USA and not UK and the page is being aligned with the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Red which is a proper page with details of the breed history and the breeding programme . I am doing the same for the breed - no one is paying for anything. Since Brexit there is no European registry and there is confusion including the fact that the Argentinian breeding book is not recognised by the EU - only the USA, Canada and Australia is recognised by the EU Herefordherdbook (talk) 10:32, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:23, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

What on earth are you at ? I am not using a new username - it is untenable that I have been accused of something - what relationship with which council ? The World Hereford Council - the one that has fallen off the web ? "www.herefords.com" the World Hereford Council with the page that says its in Uruguay while the UK page doesn't say ? Tell me Who is on the council and I will tell you if I know these people ? Next you are going to claim this page is not a government page https://randd.defra.gov.uk/ProjectDetails?ProjectId=18620 and this science research isn't correct as well https://research.aber.ac.uk/en/publications/towards-the-development-of-a-genetic-test-for-distinguishing-the-
And then you are going to claim that this page is fake too and I am getting commercial value by putting this up https://www.gov.uk/guidance/approved-breeding-programmes-standards-for-breed-societies-and-organisations#breeding-programme-extension
Seriously keep your disinformation, fraud and deception up for the world to see what type of organisation you are. Herefordherdbook (talk) 15:29, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

There is no conflict of interest and I am not being paid. https://www.herefords.com/ was the world hereford council public internet page - wiki are referring to it when it is now an advertising page (nothing to do with me - it looks like someone in the USA purchased it at auction when it was a UK managed www page) , therefore the previous world council page is gone from the www contrary to the response from whomever the petty person was who said it wasn't gone when they only look up the wiki page which is also wrong and totally out of date and I am not editing that as that is the business of the WHC - the uk are also referring to the WHC on their https://www.herefordcattle.org/world-hereford-council/ . All the updates are all correct and accurate - I am not being paid and was aligning the page with the excellent Norwegian red page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Red which has evidently been properly managed by a competent person. Note it is a criminal offence for me to advertise or promote the European (not British) company that was formed which is not mentioned anywhere on the internet and is not trading before the EU recognises it. None of the items mentioned are relatives, family or competitors and as the EU law changed in 2018 before brexit and then brexit happened there is no EU registry for Hereford Cattle and it looks like the World Hereford Council an alliance for conferences as each government and the EU have now set the law around some breeding standards etc which is why the Norwegian red page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_Red format was being followed Herefordherdbook (talk) 11:11, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Seriously ? keep your disinformation / old and redundant incorrect information, up for the world to see as this is a total waste of my time as the misinformation has been there for 10 years and the law has changed in Europe and I can simply complain to the EU who will block your misinformation entirely from the EU

Thank you for failing to explain your assumptions - I am not making a legal threat I am stating fact - that I am reporting the disinformation which is against the EU law. Guidelines are not the law and evidently making false accusations and demanding that I am to explain to individuals who are not transparent does not resonate. Failing to explain what my connection is to the "council" while failing to respond to the evidence of misinformation is untenable. I will be informing others to report each evidence of disinformation on Wikipedia which is against the EU law. Enjoy your bullying, misinformation and disinformation day.

What you did is a legal threat. We cannot stop you from doing so, but you cannot edit Wikipedia until either the threats are withdrawn or your legal action is concluded. You can pursue your grievances in the EU judicial system or on Wikipedia using Wikipedia processes, but not both. I will give you one last chance to withdraw your threats before you lose access to this page.

Herefordherdbook, I was removing your access to this page at the same time that 331dot was replying to you. I've restored your access to the page for that reason; please disregard this annoying pink notice (or delete it if you like). Please also take careful notice of the warnings you have received regarding legal threats – they are not tolerated here. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:13, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have not 'made a legal threat' I have said I am reporting the disinformation to the European Commission as you have false and inaccurate information and you have persistently refused to correct the information while falsely accusing me of wrongdoing. You have failed to review the FACTS I provided including links to UK GOVERNMENT PAGES WHILE ACUSING ME OF having a conflict of interest with a council who is falsely described on your page and where there is a link to advertising as the council page in the public domain is no longer - Accusing me of wrongdoing for updating a page with FACTS and not FICTION emanating from the USA and URUGUAY and not the UK. Wasting my time and making demands while accusing me of wrong doing is wholly inappropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Herefordherdbook (talkcontribs)
Since you refuse to acknowledge that you have violated Wikipedia policy on not making legal threats- which threatning to go to EU authorities is, I am now removing your access. Frankly I wouldn't have minded if Justlettersandnumbers had in the first place. When your legal action is concluded, or you withdraw your threats and adopt a more collaborative and open attitude, you may request unblock as described in the pink notice above. 331dot (talk) 18:28, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
