I've been working to bring additional useful info to the SEPTA articles (particularly the Market-Frankfort line), and noted in the recent revision history that someone added an external link to a Google map image of the line; but also saw that it was quickly removed as being spam. Looking at the link itself via the diff page, it looks like a perfectly reasonable addition to the article, and i can't understand why it was marked as spam in the first place. Granted, the user that added it seemed to have issues with consensus building and personal attacks (and got banned for it, where you came in); but the intent was still Good Faith. I'm not suggesting any kind of removal of their ban (that's not my fight, they can earn it themselves if they're interested); but i would support the re-addition of the google map link. I would like to put it back; but i'm not going to stick my nose out to add good data if the only thing it will get me is a cauliflower schnoz (...which is why i'm asking *everyone* involved in his ban). Would you consider taking a look at the link itself and allow me to add it back to the MFSL page? If not, would you be willing to discuss your reasoning why? Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I personally don't care too much either way on the link itself; my involvement in this issue (as far as I can see and remember) was simply to decline the user's unblock request, based on his edit warring and conduct; I don't think I reverted any of his edits (although if I did, please let me know). Looking at the link, it does potentially have some useful purpose, but since it was removed a number of times you should probably try to get a consensus on the issue first (which it seems is what you're doing). If you're getting a lot of comments like mine, I'd say go ahead and put it in if you think it'll be useful, but be prepared to back up why you think it should be included if it is reverted. Don't worry, you won't be blocked or anything unless you engage in an edit war over the issue. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:52, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Customizing Your Status Notice

Is there any way I can change the images, colors, and the like of the status box? I love the idea, but dislike its appearance. Normally with this sort of thing, I just steal the source code, but I can't find the code for this box. Help would be appreciated.

Due to the level of activity on your talk page, I would prefer if you replied on my talk page; I have made a section for it. Thank you. -RadicalOneContact MeChase My Tail 04:44, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

I can't get your status indicator to work

I know I need Wiki for Dummies but I asked for help and they say I have the code on my User:Mlpearc/monobook.js wrong but I've tryed everything I can think of. On my user page it indicates I'm "LOST" and it's correct, but when I click the set my current status I am always taken to Editing User:Mlpearc/Status, if you have time can you please take a look, Like I told the other's I know it's "bells and whistles" but it would be nice to get it working thanx Mlpearc (talk) 19:27, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

This is a common problem; for some reason the javascript takes a long time to start working. See User talk:Hersfold/StatusTemplate for more information. Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Djedefptah

Hi. Are ye administrator? Greetz;--Nephiliskos (talk) 19:47, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I'm an administrator. Do you need something? Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:54, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Hi!!! ;-))
Now ´bout my questioning. The article ´bout Djedefptah is... now... not that fine. For I´m an fan of early egypt, I managed -together with my guiding admin NebMaatRe and good fellows- to pimp up the german article ´bout this ominous king to an "worth-to-read"-award. Happy ´bout my success, I thought to do the same with the english version. But for an translation from German to English I´d needed an import after work. Would ye do that? And after work the article shall be swifted to the correct name of this ruler: Thamphthis. Best regards;--Nephiliskos (talk) 03:56, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I can import the German article to a page in your userspace. When the translation's done, someone can use the cut&paste move fix procedures to move your translated article over top of the current one. Just let me know where you'd like it to end up. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:32, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I have finished. ;-) Best regards;--Nephiliskos (talk) 06:06, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I copied the finished text to the side of Djedefptah and moved it to the right label, Thamphthis. Now it would be great, if ye could do the import. Thanks alot. DG;--Nephiliskos (talk) 19:07, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I'm still confused. Which German article is it you want imported, and to what title on en.wiki? Please note that the title here should be within your userspace; I will not import a German-language article directly to the main article space. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:28, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Couple More Questions about the status indicator

I think I have a working verison, but it's hard to tell which leds me into my first question. If the indicator is working perfectly and I'm viewing my User Page, the indicator shows "Online". If I were to then go to my "Watchlist" would the indicator "automatically" read "Busy" to anyone "else" viewing my User Page ? If I shut down my commputer "without" logging out will it automatically show "Off". Nutshell, do I choose to indicate, does it auto indicate, if so, when and why ?

Sorry for the ramble above. 2nd question, if I have a script page for monobook.js and vector.js and for what ever reason toggle between monobook and vector will the indicator toggle with me automatically and/or manually, or do I need to pick one or the other ? Mlpearc (talk) 00:25, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

The status indicator does not change unless you tell it to. You have to click one of the links provided along the bottom of the template or manually edit Special:Mypage/Status for it to work.
Monobook.js contains all the scripts that will operate when you use the Monobook skin; Vector.js contains all the scripts that will operate when you use the Vector skin. If you want a script to work in both skin, you must have the script in both files. What the status template displays is not affected by what skin you use; it's getting its information from Special:Mypage/Status. I'm not completely understanding your question here, but if I haven't answered it, let me know. Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:25, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Repeated incivility

A user you and several other admins had blocked for incivility over a half dozen times. His most recent block only expired yesterday and yet the incivility continues. I am therefore contacting those admins who previously blocked him as I am not sure what can/should be done:

Warnings and even two week blocks are not working. Please help. Thank you. Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 18:52, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

As I understand, he's now blocked indefinitely with email and talk page access disabled. I'm well aware of his conduct (having received a number of emails from him), and will keep an eye on the situation, although it seems to have been handled by this point.
