editWelcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Per WP:CRYSTAL, I removed your assertion that Denmark will win Group E. Until an official announcement is made, we do not speculate in articles. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 15:32, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
2019 FIFA Women's World Cup
editPlease remember to write in the appropriate encyclopedic tone rather than trying to imitate reports from sports websites and newspapers. Better examples can be found at GA and FA articles from the Football WikiProject. For now, I will have to remove your summaries, as they are inappropriate and hard to salvage. Minor edits
editPlease note information at WP:MINOR. You are marking tons of edits as minor when they are not minor at all, with many of them being unreferenced facts. Seany91 (talk) 06:38, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
Hi HiddenFace101! I also noticed that you recently have marked several edits as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. I wanted to stress and clarify this. Thank you. --Mango från yttre rymden (talk) 19:24, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
Earth Derby
editThe derby although is lopsided in terms of results it is still a derby that was born out due to other reasons such as border disputes. However, the Indian media never called it as "Earth Derby" infact it was the Chinese media first that named it so. Plus, reading the Chinese news cited in the article would give an idea of how the Chinese media portrays India as a growing nation in football and how it can overtake the Chinese football provided constant growth. Indian football is also the third if not thr second most viewed sport in India and it is definitely serious if you look at the recent viewership for Indian football. Some Chinese media outlets had even named it "Dragon vs Elephant" battle, more such Chinese media articles can be added to support the article. Footy2000 (talk) 15:34, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- It's not a derby and can't be qualified as a derby. If you insist this as a derby, then you have to state the same between China and Taiwan, even when the latter has never been known as a football nation. Define back the meaning of "derby" in sports before you suggest such a lopsided derby. HiddenFace101 (talk) 15:56, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Isn't England vs Scotland a lopsided derby as well? Or how about Barcelona derby? The China-India match was named as a 'derby' by media outlets, but the article is actually more about a rivalry than a derby similar to other international rivalries mentioned in the list of football rivalries page. Footy2000 (talk) 19:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Define derby in sports.
- 1. Derby will be applied when two rivalling forces share a similar ambition to win, and none wants the other to be better. This is necessarily true to the case of Boca Juniors-River Plate, or Manchester United-Manchester City. This is also applied to the cases like China-Japan, United States-Mexico. This is also true to the case in basketball or volleyball, though I don't know much about these sports.
- 2. Derby must at least gain the importance with the two rivals must have at least achievements in the same kind of sports. For example, Thailand and Vietnam share a football (soccer) rivalry because both Thais and Vietnamese want themselves better and they have achieved some international recognition. Japan and South Korea have a strong rivalry because neither accept to be behind.
- 3. Derby must not be interrupted, which means it has continuously run and run for decades. An example is the El Clasico of Spain as Barcelona and Real Madrid vie for domination since mid-20th century and has never been interrupted.
- China and India's rivalry as you consistently insisted qualified for none of them. China has the ambition to win and to dominate in football (though pathetically managed), whereas India has no such an ambition and has a great lack in exploiting football. In term of achievement, India's last achievement has been a century ago and the sport has renegaded to secondary in favour of cricket; China, meanwhile, has more successful achievements and has built up a strong football record. Moreover, while China and India have unstable relations, their football derby doesn't exist because it is interrupted by the decline of India, rise of China, and Indian disinterest in football. HiddenFace101 (talk) 17:20, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

Footy2000 (talk) 19:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Right, now I understand. Thank you for taking your time and making it clear. The main intention behind writing this article was to showcase the regional economic and cultural powers with a footballing angle and 'Earth Derby' as mentioned by several Chinese media outlets boosted the motive to write this article. I hoped that this would help in raising interest levels across these two countries and in this region in general when it comes to football which is the not the most popular sport, but as you mentioned this article did not follow the abstract criterias and any such articles shall be tagged for deletion.Footy2000 (talk) 19:34, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

edit Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Template:2023 FIFA Women's World Cup qualification – UEFA group tables. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. This warning also includes the edits you made at 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup qualification. Unless you can cite a source stating that FIFA have actually disqualified or expelled Russia, we do not state that in articles. As of today, FIFA have only suspended Russia. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 19:07, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- Then the UEFA has already done so.

- FIFA show 3 UEFA teams qualified, not 4. Only FIFA can expel or disqualify teams from World Cup qualifying. See Talk:2022 FIFA World Cup#Map for a parallel discussion regarding the men's team. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 19:14, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- @HiddenFace101: I must apologize. I was looking for FIFA to have made the announcement and did not think about UEFA making the announcement. In the future please try to cite a source, even if it is pasting the URL in your edit summary. That will avoid any sort of misunderstanding or jumping to conclusions on the part of other editors. Please consider the warning struck, and you may remove this section from your talk page if you wish.
- There is more work to do here than simply moving RUS to the bottom of their group since UEFA also declared all their previous matches null and void. I am working on the templates as we speak. Again, I am very sorry for rushing to the incorrect conclusion. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 19:43, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

Disruptive edits to Sino-Vietnamese War
editHello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Sino-Vietnamese War, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page.
The reasons given for reverting were: "WP:OR - rm original research. cnbc source doesn't even mention Vietnam, let alone ASEAN; lexology source never mentioned Vietnam or ASEAN; CSIS is a thinktank making policy recommendations, and never mentions the Sino-Vietnamese war, they mention Vietnam war (US vs. Vietnam)"
and "WP:NPOV linked articles refer to the [border] conflict as either conflicts or skirmishes. unless sourced, don't use bombastic language, as it violates guidelines." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2404:4408:44D1:E500:C98:88E0:A1C7:952E (talk) 06:58, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Disruptive edits to Chinese expansionism
editPlease refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Chinese expansionism. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.
Your edit was erroneously marked "m" (minor) when it was not. You were warned earlier to avoid this but continue to make this error very regularly.
Your edit said that (after the Sino-Vietnamese War 1979), "China and Vietnam later entered a decade of [[Sino-Vietnamese conflicts (1979–1991)|border war]]"
The reason for reverting was: "Those are not minor edits, and the Sino-Vietnamese conflicts (1979–1991) are specifically NOT referred to as a "war". You were already warned about this in the other article, Sino-Vietnamese War." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2404:4408:44D1:E500:F881:B149:3467:EE9D (talk) 21:33, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Rowspanning
editHi there. Thanks for updating the Zubayr Amiri stats. One nitpick: Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players states that "venues, opponents and competitions should not be rowspanned across different matches. Whereas, they should be rowspanned within the same match." I've reverted that change at Zubayr Amiri. Going forward, please stick to the standard layout and formatting as outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 15:45, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

- It's so ridiculous when you stated it "does not have sufficient content to require an article of its own". What about the article of Chile at the FIFA Women's World Cup, for example? It does not even have the same level of sufficient content for such an article yet it is still passed out to be a separate article. If you are saying this does not qualify to be an article then why don't remove the articles of Chile or Thailand to make it fair? HiddenFace101 (talk) 18:21, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Hello, I'm SLBedit. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Béla Guttmann, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. SLBedit (talk) 15:33, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

. Euryalus (talk) 00:53, 20 June 2023 (UTC)- Further to the above. I believe you are editing in good faith, and a fair few of your edits are valuable additions to sports articles. Unfortunately your edit history also shows a large number of unsourced additions, non-neutral statements and most recently a personal attack on another editor. Your previous block expired a few days ago and yet here we are again. Hence the slightly longer block to prevent further disruption.
- During the block please take the time to read up on policies and guidelines such as verifiability and neutral point of view. When disagreeing with anther editor it's usually essential to restrict your comments to the content of their edits rather than criticising them as a person. With these points in mind, you're welcome to return to regular editing when the block expires. All the best. -- Euryalus (talk) 00:58, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

Fan wiki links as source
editHello! Please note that a fan wiki cannot be used as a source, even if there are no questions about the published information. I know a number of authors from there and they are good people, but wikipedia rules forbid fan content as sources. If it's about things that were directly and openly shown in the show and anyone can verify it just by watching the anime or playing the game, then you can just refer to the original itself. August 2023
editWelcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Brazil national football team, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Thank you. Bocafan76 (talk) 15:37, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

2026 FIFA World Cup qualification – AFC second round - referees for matches
editHi. Would it be possible to add some sourcing for this in the changelog. I am loathe to revert these changes as I am aware that this information is often available - particularly for Chinese matches (or where Chinese official are involved). However, at the very least it would be better if it were possible to check you haven't made an error by (for example) accidentally linking the referee to the wrong match (it is easy enough to do). Just a reference in the update box would be enough - I am not talking about creating huge lists of "links" like some pages have - just a way to confirm these names. 165.12.252.109 (talk) 06:12, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Kautilya3. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Branko Ivanković. June 2024
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Anti-German sentiment. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. I pinged you twice to invite you to the discussion I started. Instead of taking part you keep reverting and even marked your last revert as "minor edit". Rsk6400 (talk) 05:14, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article. This means that article should be written in a neutral tone. The use of hyperbolic language, like in you recent edits to Rob Page, Brazil v Germany (2014 FIFA World Cup), French Indochina in World War II and Magomed Adiyev, is almost always in appropriate. The last of these is particularly concerning given that using the exact same wording elsewhere is what prompted the last warning regarding point of view concerns. Refusing to engage with legitimate concerns that other editors have with your writing will result in a block. Sir Sputnik (talk) 23:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Sir Sputnik (talk) 22:56, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Between numerous warnings and a previous block for similar editing, you should know that changes that do not respect the policy on neutral point of view, like your most recent edits to the Thailand and Syria national football teams are unacceptable. There have been persistent concern about your unwillingness to engage with the concerns of others. If this does not change when this block expires, expect the next one to be indefinite. Hello, HiddenFace101
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Dclemens1971, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Kenya at the Africa Cup of Nations, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dclemens1971}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!
