You said you'd improve the Baker article and supply better sources. That's why it was restored for you.

If you don't actually improve it, it will be deleted again. I'll give you three weeks from the timestamp on this message. DS (talk) 15:56, 2 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@DragonflySixtyseven:, I was literally drowned in other wikipedia project, I added more resource to the article, after all it's your call, if you see it should be deleted, I'm also an admin and I can understand how hard it is to keep things in order and I'll understand your decision, best regards. Egyptian Arabic wiki

edit

Hi, I've noticed that you've created a lot of Lebanese footballers on the Egyptian Arabic wiki. However, a lot of spellings are incorrect. It seems as if you took the name written in latin script and just translitterated it to Arabic. Mootaz Jounaidi, for example, is Arabic: معتز الجنيدي, not Arabic: موتاز چونايدى. All Arabic versions of the players' names are written on their English page, so pay attention to that next time. Thanks, Nehme1499 (talk) 13:37, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Nehme1499:, first of all thanks for your notice, While creating the articles I use data from wikidata so yes I do translate the names to Egyptian from Latin and I don't use their English page, however I noticed that you are interested in writing about Lebanese football player therefore I'll be more than happy if you could help fixing similar issues, Thanks for your time and help. HitomiAkane (talk) 14:32, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@HitomiAkane: can you please send me a list of Lebanese footballers you have created in the Egyptian Arabic wiki? And next time you create Lebanese players, please let me know (or check their English page, and notice the Arabic spelling). Nehme1499 (talk) 14:35, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
You can find it in Lebanese footballers category, Thanks in advance. HitomiAkane (talk) 14:39, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. My concern, however, is that you will continue to create Lebanese footballers in the future by misspelling their names. I don't want to continue to check that page every day to make sure you haven't misspelled someone. Could you please look at the English article before creating the page? It's much better to have 5 articles a day with the correct titles, than to have 20 with incorrect names. Take your time, and don't rush. Nehme1499 (talk) 14:47, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499: I'll try my best, Thanks again HitomiAkane (talk) 14:52, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Nehme1499 (talk) 15:17, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

And again, you aren't even bothering to look at the correct spelling... Nehme1499 (talk) 17:13, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Nehme1499: can you at least point to the article you are talking about! — Preceding unsigned comment added by HitomiAkane (talkcontribs) 19:54, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
It's not one article, it's multiple! Didn't you notice that I have moved quite a few of your created articles? See Houssem Louati, from هوسيم لواتى to حسام اللواتي, or Alfredo Juraidini, from الفريدو چورايدينى to الفريدو جريديني, as well as Alexis Khazzaka (اليكسيس خازاكا to أليكسيس خزاقة) and Hassan Moghnieh (هاسان موجنيه to حسن مغنية). I'm not asking for much, just for you to write their native names in the correct spelling. They aren't Brazilian or Italian players, where you can freely transliterate as you wish: they are Lebanese players who's native names are written in Arabic script. Nehme1499 (talk) 20:05, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499: as I noticed from the wikidata revision history you've change the country of citizenship after I've created the articles and added the Arabic labels, As long the wikidata doesn't have the Arabic label I can't be sure from the correct spelling — Preceding unsigned comment added by HitomiAkane (talkcontribs) 20:05, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Then click on the English Wikipedia page of the person. A lot of pages don't have the full wikidata information, so it's best to check at the English Wikipedia page of the player. Nehme1499 (talk) 21:56, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
And again, now with Mohamad Kdouh... it's not محمد كدوه, instead it's محمد قدوح. Are you doing this on purpose? Nehme1499 (talk) 15:27, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Nehme1499: First of all, behave, I don't work for you so don't talk to me as if you are my mentor and I have to follow your orders, As I said before as long the wikidata does not contain the Arabic label I won't be able to add the Arabic label and I don't have to follow your articles, if you want to make use of your self and your time you can add the Arabic label to the wikidat to the articles that concern you.

This is a joke, right? The last thing I will do is to add the "Arabic label" to all Lebanese players' Wikidata. We are dealing with objective facts here, not personal opinions. The player's name is محمد قدوح, you can't just interpret his name as you see fit. Writing his name as محمد كدوه is the equivalent of writing Cristiano Ronaldo's name as "Kristianu Runaldu": it's ridiculous. It's extremely obvious that you are just creating as many players as possible just to have a higher number of articles created... for what? What's the purpose. Get a hold of yourself, and take the time to check the player's official name. If I see another miss-transliterated player I will have to request a block. Nehme1499 (talk) 20:05, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499: The joke is to ask me to follow your articles to create mine, you are not a the reference to how write Arabic names, Don't threaten me, this wikipedia and not your own blog and threaten is against wikipedia policy if you don't know this fact, I don't have to do you what you THINK is right, as long the wikidata don't contains Arabic label I'll translate the name the way I see it right, just like any other wikipedia do, we are not the Arabic wikipedia we are the Egyptian wikipedia, for the last time behave when you talk to me, What I do and how many articles I create is not your business.
Can you please just write their names in their correct spelling? I'm not asking for much. Nehme1499 (talk) 22:02, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499: OK my dear friend I'll write it in the correct spelling, I'll even review all previous Lebanese player and check the spelling according to the English articles, and if I miss anything just pointed to me I'll be more than happy to do it and this will be a great cooperation between us, have a nice night.
Thank you. Nehme1499 (talk) 22:25, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499: No problem my friend, be safe and God bless you. HitomiAkane (talk) 23:12, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Article creation process is duplicating geographic features on provincial borders within Canada, and between Canada the US

edit

Dear HitomiAkane, you have been creating many articles in the Egyptian Wikipedia about geographic features in Canada and the USA — good for you!   I suspect you are using tools that automate the creation and drawing from US and Canadian database sources like GeoNames, GNIS and the CGNDB, and perhaps Wikidata too. Nothing wrong with creating articles this way, except that you end up duplicating features. For example, in Canada, ones that cross provincial and territorial boundaries, where there is a separate CGNDB database entry (and often separate GeoNames entry) for the feature for each province or territory in which it lies. In addition, in Canada, features have separate English and French-language entries which might have different names for the feature (and again they might show up in GeoNames yet another time). Finally, geographic features may overlap the US-Canada border, in which case there are entries in the US GNIS database and the Canadian CGNDB … and GeoNames. What's more, multiple articles in Wikipedia language often end up as multiple, separate entries in Wikidata.

There is no way to avoid these issues unless one takes the time to look up features when creating Wikipedia articles, especially for rivers that are near the US-Canada border or provincial/territorial borders in Canada, and for lakes too. I focus my editing efforts on Ontario lakes and rivers, and elsewhere in Canada a second hobby, in Wikipedia English and Wikidata. I've come across many duplicates thanks to a Swedish bot that automated the creation of many articles in Wikipedia Swedish and Wikipedia Cebuano using database sources. It would be regrettable if your efforts at Wikipedia Egyptian Arabic just compounded the problems.

I can handle fixing things, for example by redirecting articles, in Swedish and Cebuano, but not in Arabic. Here are a couple of cases that I have found so far.

1. Casgrain Lake / Lac Casgrain For this first one, I asked for help at English Wikipedia, at the WikiProject Egypt (see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Egypt#Requesting help in merging two articles in the ARZ Wikipedia) and WikiProject Arab world (see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Arab world#Help in merging two articles at WP Egyptian Arabic); sadly, despite these two requests, no one has helped. This is a case of a lake being in the database twice, once with English name and once with French name. As a result you've created two articles arz:بحيره كاسجراين (on Wikidata wikidata:Q22448578) and arz:بحيره لاك كاسجراين (on Wikidata wikidata:Q22381127) for the same lake. Can you redirect arz:بحيره لاك كاسجراين to arz:بحيره كاسجراين?

2. Lac La Croix This is a case of a lake on the US-Canada border, with duplicated articles resulting from separate entries in the American GNIS and Geonames databases arz:بحيره لاك لا كرويكس (on Wikidata wikidata:Q13856352) and arz:بحيره لاك لا كرويكس (كندا) (on Wikidata wikidata:Q22590932). Can you redirect arz:بحيره لاك لا كرويكس (كندا) to arz:بحيره لاك لا كرويكس?

3. Redirect in Egyptian Arabic Could you provide me the correct wikicode for Redirect in Egyptian Arabic too?

Finally, I would be happen to discuss any of this further if you wish. Warm regards!   --papageno (talk) 00:39, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Qui1che, First of all, let me thank you on spending the time to check on that, I'm usually trying my best to avoid such issues, to clear the idea I use WikiData to collect my data, and yes sometimes I face duplicate result, I'm all open to correct any issue, and I usually do response to merge request as soon as I notice it,
I did the requested redirect,
Any other request, I'm willing to do it,
The wikicode for redirect in Egyptian Arabic is like this:
#تحويل [[Target_Page]]
Thanks again for your time and help. HitomiAkane (talk) 01:01, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for your kind response, for your help in doing the redirects, and for the code in Arabic for a redirect.   In case of interest, here are a few resources which may be useful:
(1) The Canadian national map viewer Toporama at Natural Resources Canada. You can enter the name of a geographic feature at the left and then it is is displayed on the map with a box around the extent of the feature. It is easy to see if the feature crosses provincial/territorial boundaries, or if the feature is near the US border.
(2) The Canadian Geographic Names database search by name (CGNDB) also at at Natural Resources Canada. You can also search various other ways. Each entry includes a small map view highlighting the feature.
(2) The Ontario Official Geographic names map viewer at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Another way to see if a feature is near a border with another province or with the US. Each entry will reference the CGNDB key.
Thanks again, and if you ever need help with anything regarding Ontario or Canadian geographical features, please do get in touch. --papageno (talk) 17:38, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good morning again. I am writing to greet you and to know how you are, in addition to this I am writing to you if you want to take a few minutes to translate two articles of my interest into Egyptian Arabic, right and no more than 20 minutes of your time. These are Rai Isoradio and Dado Coletti, the first is a radio station very popular with travelers and motorists and truck drivers and so on, the second: Dado, is one of the main hosts of the broadcaster, he has also made programs of interest cultural, travel and children's programming. Of course if I can do something for you, feel free to ask, a warm greeting and thanks for everything.--Luigi Salvatore Vadacchino (talk) 12:00, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Luigi Salvatore Vadacchino, Rai Isoradio is done, as for Dado Coletti, I see it has some notability issues, please give it some time to see if it will be fixed somehow. HitomiAkane (talk) 14:54, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
