Because you have been persistently adding copyright violations and promotional content to PolyU School of Hotel and Tourism Management and Hotel Icon (Hong Kong), you have been indefinitely blocked from editing those two articles. You can make neutral, well referenced edit requests at the talk pages of those articles. Please be aware that adding copyright violations anywhere on Wikipedia may result in a sitewide block. Please also read the Guide to appealing blocks. Cullen328 (talk) 07:13, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am the marketing staff from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, that I would like to update the latest information in this page, I don't think the information I added was involved the copyright issue, please advise. Hello, please follow the procedures at WP:DONATETEXT, then you can donate the copyrighted text to the article and potentially be unblocked. Cheers, — MATRIX! (a good person!)[citation unneeded] 12:13, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also note you may have a conflict of interest, and therefore please write in a neutral point of view. — MATRIX! (a good person!)[citation unneeded] 12:15, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you are in any way employed by the school, then you are in breach of Wikimedia's terms of service by editing without making a formal declaration of your status, as explained at WP:PAID.
It also sounds as if you have a (very common) misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia's article about your school does not belong to your school, is not controlled by it, and will not necessarily say what you would like it to say. Almost anybody in the world may edit it except you and other employees (that restriction has now been forced on you, but it was always present, even if you didn't know about it).
Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources. Therefore it is unlikely that material from the school's website would be appropriate, even disregarding the copyright issue. ColinFine (talk) 14:15, 27 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • {{Permission pending}}
Hmkelly (talk) 02:04, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have undeleted the revsions as it appears copyright is granted. ticket:2023122810000926 applies. However it does not negate the conflict of interest. So Hmkelly you should still use talk pages to request changes. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:57, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • The {{Permission pending}} template should be added to the image description page, or, if the content in question is an article, to the article talk page. I have deactivated the template on your user talk page. (Adding it to your user talk page incorrectly categorizes it in a list of pages that have permission requests pending. But you want the article or image in question to be in that category.) --B (talk) 16:48, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
