Greetings from Hollywood,

My name is Marlene Panoyan, Director of Communications at Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

Since 1921... The Mission of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is to promote and enhance the business, cultural and civic well-being of Hollywood.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also administers the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Sign. These two landmarks are trademarks of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

These are the only official websites administered by the Hollywood Chamber. Official Hollywood Chamber of Commerce - http://www.hollywoodchamber.net Official Hollywood Walk of Fame - http://www.walkoffame.com Official Hollywood Sign - http://www.HollywoodSign.org Official Hollywood Walk of Fame iPhone app - http://minglingmedia.com/mm/hwf/support.php

I am interested in articles related to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Stars on the Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood Sign, Friends of the Walk of Fame, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, and everything that's related to the advocacy agenda of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

As someone who appreciates Wikipedia, I would like to make sure information about my organization is accurate. As the Hollywood Chamber administers the Hollywood Walk of Fame, there couldn't be any better source to correct misinformation and confusion.

I have read the WP rules and will abide by them.

I would like to connect with anyone who shares similar interest,

Thanks, Marlene Panoyan Director of Communications Hollywood Chamber of Commerce 323-469-8311 x17 info@hollywoodchamber.net

  • Thank you for declaring your interest in your introduction, above. Would you mind indicating in your intro whether you have read and will comply with Wikipedia policy and guidelines about WP:Conflict of Interest?
  • There's a problem with your choice of username, "HollywoodChamber". According to WP:Usernames, specifically WP:Usernames#Company/group names, Unambiguous use of a name or URL of a company, group or product as a username is not permitted. I had mentioned the guideline on the IP address Talk page, in an effort to help you avoid this. It's fixable, however:
  • Simply sign up with another username (preferably NOT your real name). I think it would be fine to incorporate a word in the name, such as "ChamberCommDirector" or "HChamberCommDir" or "HCMPanoyan" or the like, to your taste. Probably not "Hollywood" though.
  • Make reference to that new name on this Talk page here,
  • Declare your interest on the new user Talk page,
  • "Retire" (stop using) HollywoodChamber.

Ok! If you have questions about editing, policies & such, you can get quick answers in chat. Click chat online. I recommend that you bookmark that link. It brings up a chat window - at the bottom is a white text entry area into which you can type questions (hit Enter afterwards), and one of many other Wikipedia editors online will help. Depending on how busy everyone is, it can take from 10 seconds to an hour to get an answer, but it's worth a try if you're stumped. --Lexein (talk) 17:56, 22 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Username blocked

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, HollywoodChamber, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WikiProject Japan! 05:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
