Hello, HorusProtector, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Thank you for your contributions. It's great that you want to contribute to Wikipedia - the more constructive editors the better!
I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!
Getting the articles just right can be tricky - but there are lots of people to ask!
If you have any questions, just click on the Contact Me link after my signature at the end of this section. Alternatively, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}}
before the question.
By the way, when you are writing on a discussion page (or someone's talk page), it is considered good manners to sign your comment... to do this, just add ~~~~
at the end of your comment. That will put your user name (HorusProtector) and the date/time at the end (or you can click on the icon when you are editing. Never sign on an article page - only on a discussion page.
I am now going to add my signature, using ~~~~

- Hello HorusProtector, you should read Wikipedia:Your first article. Although it is all important, pay particular attention to #4 “Gather references both to use as source(s) of your information and also to demonstrate notability of your article's subject matter. References to blogs, personal websites and MySpace don't count—we need reliable sources.”
- The reason why you cannot search for your article is that it is still just your user page: you have not moved it to article space. But that is a good thing, for if it were in article space in it present form, it would be deleted immediately because it does not demonstrate the notability of the subject. See WP:N and WP:ORG for Wikipedia’s notability guidelines for organizations. In its present form it also is not much of an encyclopedia article: It doesn't begin by saying what the subject is; so readers have no context for reading it.
- My advice to you is that you look for coverage of CFRA in independent reliable sources. If such coverage exists, you should build your article around what the sources say about it (what it is, why it is worth writing about, etc.), writing of course in your own words. If such coverage does not (yet) exist, then I am sorry but without such coverage it does not qualify for an article. —teb728 t c 18:39, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
editIf you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Checkered Flag Racing Association, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:18, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Checkered Flag Racing Association
editA tag has been placed on Checkered Flag Racing Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Orange Mike | Talk 19:18, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
