مكتبــــة حصــــن الشمـــــوخ: سلطنة عمان

افتتحت في 27 أغسطس 2012م وموقعها حصن الشموخ بولاية منح بمحافظة الداخلية . هي مكتبـــــة عصرية وراقيـــة جهزت لتقديم خدمات معلومات متخصصة للباحثين في المجالات والتخصصات المختلفة وتضم بين جنباتها أقساما مختلفة ومصادر متنوعة، ففيها المجموعة العمانية ومجموعة المراجع ومجموعة الدوريات ومجموعة الكتب العامة إلى جانب عدد كبير من المصادر في شكلها الإلكتروني والمتاحة من موقعها الإلكتروني www.hsl.om

المكتبـــة من الداخل تحفة فنية رائعة في التصميم والبناء غلفت جدرانها بأرفف من خشب القيقب ونظمت مجموعاتها في شكل غرف مفتوحة على بعضها بشكل متصل، وتشغل المجموعة العمانية غرفتين وست غرف لمجموعة المراجع و المجموعة العامة (12) غرفة وجميعها مزينة بنقوش إسلامية جميلة (أرابيسك). وتتوسط المبنى قاعة القراءة الرئيسية التي تتسع لسبعين باحثاً، فبسقفها الممتد 12 متراً توجد ست فتحات زجاجية تزود القاعة بالإنارة الطبيعية إلى جانب المصابيح الموجودة في سقفها وعلى الطاولات، والمكان محاط بثمانية أقواس مصممة في تناغم جميل بعرض تسعة أمتار تلف القاعة بشكل دافئ و أنيق.

أما الفناء الخارجي للمكتبة فهو ممشى مستطيل الشكل مزين بأقواس منتظمة ويزدان سطحه الخشبي بمصابيح كالنجوم، وتتوسط الفناء حديقة مزروعة بالورود والياسمين وهناك مقاعد معدة لجلوس الباحثين للاستراحة والاستمتاع بطبيعة المنظر وجمالياته مما يكسبهم مزيدا من النشاط ويدفعهم للعودة للبحث والقراءة بالمكتبة. كما أن هذه المنطقة مغطاة بشبكة الانترنت اللاسلكي مما يتيح للباحث استخدام أجهزة الحاسب المحمولة خارج ردهات المكتبة للدخول لمصادرها الإلكترونية.

Hisn A’Shumookh Library: Sultanate of Oman

Hisn A’Shumookh Library was opened on the 27th of August 2012 in its location in Willayat Manah in Al-Dakhiliya Governorate. It is a modern and upscale research library established and equipped to provide specialized information services for researchers in different fields and disciplines.

The library contains various sections and a variety of information resources. It holds Omani collection, Reference Collection and collection of General Books on different fields as well as a large number of e-resources accessible through its website. www.hsl.om The interior library building is considered to be a state-of-art in design and construction. The library walls are covered with shelves made of maple wood. The collections of resources are shelved in a chain of rooms opened together and arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Two rooms are occupied by the Omani Collection and six by References, while (12) rooms decorated with magnificent Islamic inscriptions (Arabesque) are allocated for General Book Collection.

The Main Reading Hall that accommodates (70) researchers is located in the centre of the library building. On its twelve-meter-long roof there are six sky lights provide natural lighting in addition to lights connected to the reading tables. The Hall is surrounded by a nine-meter-wide beautiful eight arches. They cover the whole area with warm and stylish environment. The outside courtyard of the library is surrounded by a rectangular corridor that is ornamented with regular designed arches and decorated with a wooden surface studded with lamps like stars. In the Centre of the yard there is a garden planted with roses and jasmine and provided with seats designed for researchers to take rest and enjoy the beauty of the natural scenery. It is also covered with Wi-Fi internet access, through which researchers can use their own laptops to access the library e-resources.
